Default Play with battle timer on

    Seriously.
I just had to give up a victory because of stupid AI/game flaw. It was a siege involving me, as Rome, with 6,5k troops, vs. Carthage with 7,5k. After 55 minutes of battling it out and apparently winning(it was pretty close, epic battle!), I check the minimap. There were another 7 or 8 Carthaginian ships just chilling in the water, full of troops. Lacking ships/ranged weapons, there was no way for me to take them down. So I had to accept my defeat.
Lost my best legion, Lilybaelum and a part of my heart. RIP Legio IV Equestris.

Mod's great, I have a blast playing it, and my First Punic War would be epic if this hadn't happened. Looking forward to 1.0!

Keep in mind these things can happen when you decide to play without timer. That's all!

Since the release of Rome 2 back in autumn of 2013, playing with battle timer on is an absolute necessity. These loops / inactivity of the AI are hardcoded and nothing the DeI modders could change, unfortunately, just for your intelligence. I agree with you that this is kind of sad - at least it can be avoided, as you mentioned.

    Addendum:
They actually made it so that ships will rout when all land forces have been defeated and left the map. However, this does not seem to apply to stuck transport vessels, only to navy ships? I haven't checked that out yet I'm afraid, and was just lucky that it never happened.

By the way, seeing Carthage make grand assaults of >2 stacks upon Lilybaeum is always glorious to witness.

    Yeah, I know it's a game flaw, unfortunately. =/

Glorious indeed, it involved 3 stacks on each side. Almost an hour long battle, best one I had so far!

Disable battle timer only against an human opponent, and then only if you agree to it. In case one bug out, the "loser" can still abandon.
