Traitor to our nation...
I have restarted my Carthago campaign. This time, some 50 turns into the game, I am pretty annoyed by my military's low loyalty. I have lost at least 2 young generals to treason, and numerous small armies (reinforcements). But what happened yesterday just goes over my head.
I sent the old Gisgo, who, with 2 stars and 4 loyalty was THE BEST of my generals, to conquer Mauretania. Being already 59, he arrived painfully slowly on the scene and laid siege to a city. Next turn, he deserted and the whole army and the SOB of my old general became rebels!
And no, he was not a "disheartened admin" or something like that. All others, who sit in my metropoles are.
Why is it so? How can I prevent this?

Wow I just discovered the tutorial:

this explains a lot! My FL was sitting a long time in Gader, at the edge of the empire...
