Default Real-time battles in the campaign?

    Hi guys,

I love this mod so far, but I have two questions. One: is there any way to play battles in real-time in the campaign, instead of just having them autoresolve? I understand this is because it's a hotseat campaign, but is there any way to...make it singleplayer maybe? Without being able to play the battles, the campaign isn't nearly as fun as it could be. Also, has anyone else noticed the lag? In both campaign and custom battles I'm getting serious lag, any ideas you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Hotseat campaign will be removed in the next version, though battles should not be autoresolved in hotseat anyway.

Will this have the side effect of speeding things up between turns? I'm not sure if this is a common issue or just me and my venerable PC, but HTW 3.6 does spend considerably more time between turns 5 and 6 than Civ: BE spends on its splash screen loading the whole game.

I also seem to lose a lot of framerate whenever a unit moves. This might be the problem JoanSam is having...

Does that mean the Twili events are going to change a bit, or did you find a way to do it without the hot seat?

Did you accidentally check some sort of "autoresolve-only" option?

The unit moves problem is one that is especially bothersome, however, I notice a bit of a slowdown on the campaign map in general, and when I played the first custom battle it was quite laggy. As to the battle problem: I haven't tried playing a battle when it was my turn, e.g. I attack an army with my army. From my experience with hotseat campaigns, this probably works fine. The problem is when a computer attacks me on their turn, like if they sally forth from a castle. Then the battle gets autoresolved. Also-I specifically disabled the autoresolve check box before I started the campaign.

I haven't played in hotseat mode in the campaign, but can't you change the config file from hotseat=true to hotseat=false? IDK

Eldren-thank you, I have only played the hotseat campaign as one nation by itself, and I still have the autoresolve problem. Again, I can fight battles when it's my turn and I attack someone, just not when it's the computer's turn and it attacks me. Is nobody else having this problem? And my computer is quite new-I have an Nvidia 860M card which is more than enough to play Medieval 2. I have zero problems with lag when playing normal Medieval 2 and the Kingdoms expansion, so I was wondering if there's anything specific to this mod that might be causing it.

I tried messing with config.cfg, but it didn't work

Wait, I got lost somewhere, what is this Hotseat Campaign? Is it something multiplayer related? Is it the singleplayer campaign?

Because I really hope that last one stays. There's some good things going on there.

The Hotseat is currently a part of the Main Single player Free Form Campaign. It was don't to allow some events to happen with out Bugs(It also has a chance to cause a few other event not to happen). But according to Neph. I guess it's not needed any more.

If you still want the Hotseat Campaign? Just go in to Multiplayer in the Main Manu in HTW. And select Hotseat Campaign. It should work the same.

To fix the auto-resolved problem . In my experience, Just have one faction selected to be played in the Hotseat Campaign. If you have 2/more selected to play. Then what you just said happens. (Or at least when it has to pick which player faction to be playing in a battle, It just Auto-resolves instead of Picking.)

To fix the End turn Lag while watching. Turn off "watch AI turn". In the Game Menu.

To fix/help fix the in Battle lag. Lower all Graphical options to non/lowest.
May also want to get a game booster Program. I use "Razer Game Booster".
Besides that. Upgrading you PC Parts/hardware would help.

    Edit2:
You also may have had a bad download of the community patch or of HTW. If you have a Lot of problems that no one else has. Try to re-download HTW And/or the HTW's CP.

Look at and read through the Hyrule Total War - Installation Guide. For help in Download and Installation Problems.
