[fieldset2=Enhanced Particles Description]Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to introduce a most recent project, Enhanced Particles.

Although simple by its nature, Enhanced Particles offers far more dynamic and, dare we say, exciting battlefields. Enjoy every battle field like it should be enjoyed - truly atmospheric and visually pleasing! While the project is considered mature to be released for the public, there will be further improvements in the coming few weeks.

    Performance

Enhanced Particles should not notably affect the frame rate. The dust has been made thin enough for you to be able to zoom in closely without a prominent performance drop. In order to see the particle effects, the corresponding graphical setting must be set to Very High or Extreme.

    Steam Download Link
    Enjoy!

Regards, the Antiqua Imperium team (work courtesy of Petellius and Sheridan/Philip). Special thanks to Demokritos and The Germans are coming for helping out with testing, feedback and other resources.

If it can be made less dense, you guys have it looking far more natural now when zoomed out. In my opinion, it looks great close-up and really adds to the feel of battles. I'm excited to see the final result.

This is the new dust effect I have, Philips is different so far. This is a little less dense but also has wind effects so the particles drift across the battlefield, making visibility shift between gusts. On less dusty terrain, however, the dust effect is much less prominent and is low lying and less impressive, it looks more like a little mist around their waists when fighting.

oh man that dust in the desert looks stunning but the one on the grassland is to mutch, grasslands have more moister in the ground so it shoud be a lot less.

is it possible to give the soldiers muddy clothes in grassland and dusty clothes in deserts?

    great work anyway

Don't think so unfortunately. Either way the dust can easily be toned down in grass, mud and other terrains. We're going to release this mod as a stand-alone to my understanding, probably within the week. There'll be two versions, Petellius' with his awesome effects (that may be a bit too taxing on low-end computers), and then a toned down version.

Looks mature for the necessary release as a standalone mod

The old version has been changed, my version now has a very slight dust effect (about waist height or just above their heads) when in muddy or grassy land, but on dusty dry or desert land see the latest screenshot

Will this work on Multiplayer without playing with the same mod?

Shouldn't work since it changes both VFX and database files. As always, you could give it a shot to be sure.

yeah i tried, and it didnt. Shame, CA didnt spend time on improving the dust particles. As i wanted to see this in online as well. I could only hope for a patch.

Sorry for double posting but, the mod is not working properly for me. Actually i think it didnt work at all. I tried setting the particles on extreme, remove and install the mod but nothing happens.

Ok sorry for this again. Actually, now im confused. Did the vanilla had dust particles, just even the slightest bit? I wasnt sure of this one becuase i have set my particles on extreme since i bought this game so I didnt know the difference. Because what im seeing right now is a very thin dust coming out when the units walk and fight, but it doesn't actually looked as dense as the pictures shown.

It's been made considerably thinner and less prominent in the latest update. Vanilla does have particles, but they're very 2D-ish and can only be seen from very close by (basically they're flat on the ground). Anyway, it's difficult to spot the mod particles in deserts due to the similar colour the dust has to the ground - still working on this. On grassland, however, it is far easier to spot. You can use the previous version (with much more volume to the effect) in the workshop link provided a page or two back, but it will be somewhat more taxing on performance.

I implied the version that you suggested for me in the workshop, it worked perfectly and also for online (can you believe that?). I can now see dust effects clearly, thank you guys very much for this amazing mod.

However it didn't end well for my framerate heheh, maybe ill just adjust things on the pack manager so no harm done.

That's great, sorry to hear about the frame rate though! I guess you can tamper a bit with the file to see what can be done there.
