    Default Game crashes in battles

SS 6.4 Windows 7 with UAC disabled. Non-Steam. Running as administrator. Crashes only happen in battles whether campaign or custom. I will get the "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error" message.

Is this crash in a campaign or is it in a custom battle?

    This sounds like two things:
    1. Looks like a bad install if you having campaign crashes, re-install SS with your UAC disabled.
    2. Battle crashes can be solved by d/l RBAI Update from Sub Mods in stickies

Also please remember to install 6.4 Bugfixes by Meloo182

    Hi,
I'm having the exact same problem. When I start a battle, the loading screen appears, but once the bar is fully loaded it gives me the message: "Medieval 2: Total war" and crsahes. I have tried reinstalling and also updated RBAI but still have the Problem. I've installed the bugfix compilation 1.26 but it doesn't help neither. In previous tries I got the message box that has been described previously by AwareLine63779. I hope someone can help me with this. thanks in advance.

I also figured that the error depends on the map I am playing on. For example using Edelweis the game crashes every time.

TheWolf94, it that is a Custom battle you are trying to play, then a crash will happen as not all the maps are aligned with SS any longer

Ok thanks for the quick reply, Navajo Joe. But the problem occurs in the campaign as well. I figured out that it only happens when I try to play a siege battle. Any ideas what could be the problem here?

This sadly sounds like a bad install, possibly a corrupt d/l, I would tend to remove SS, registry clean, re download, then re-install 6.3, see that it loads, re-install 6.4, see that it loads, install RBAI update and then Bugfix, all very tedious

Tried it, still doesn't work. Maybe I reinstall the whole game once again and try installing the mod afterwards. Thank you for your time anyway.

Does your problem happen in the loading screen at the start of the battle or the end of a battle? Is it a specific settlement or any settlement?
