M/M, using PiterAI1.2 and the B0Gia submod package (which fixes, among other things, the command stars problem).

Given that this faction gets the largest king's purse when handled by the AI, it is remarkably easy to play.

Destroy the Arverni immediately using your excellent initial army, then capture rebel settlements down to Massalia and elsewhere for as long as your initial army has the strength. It is then easy to get out of debt.

I allied with the Epirotes and conquered Rome fairly quickly. The Epirotes turned hostile but once reduced to a single settlement they formed a useful barrier against Carthage. The stalemate across the straits of Messina lasted for 100 turns.

The Boii, who do nothing but sit in their starting towns staying bankrupt and building large stacks of troops, were a pain to get rid of, since they generate a large horde. The Sweboz also generate a horde but were easier to deal with. The rest is easy.

I finished about turn 180, and other AI factions were starting to spam stacks. Victory might have been difficult 110 turns later.

The Aedui have a well-balanced and fairly interesting lineup of units, and the confederation system makes it easy to set up three or four locations fairly far from the capital where they can be produced.
