    Default Mounts and Men

I was reviewing some of the stats for Baktria and noticed something, the Man, or Driver, has a different HP amount than the Mount. Such as the Elephant, http://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/...mour_Elephants or cavalry, http://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/...re_Citizen_Cav. I noticed it is the case for any mounted unit. My question is, are there chances where you can "snipe" the rider off the mount as they usually have less health than the mount? Or do they only consider the health of the mount as long as the rider is mounted?
One last interesting observation, IF they only take the mounts health into effect when the rider is mounted, the Citizen Cav for Baktria the rider actually has more health and armor than the horse itself (Its usually the other way around). Again, thank you for any and all help, and sorry for the two questions in a row.

When on horse, riders HP does not matter, it only counts when rider is dismounted.

Excellent, thank you. That is what I assumed as well, however it was interesting since Elephant riders cannot dismount, just kill mount when going berserk.

Yes, but note that elephants in DeI do not have permanent berserk (if not attacked they will be again fully controlled) so better don't kill them right away, only if your other units are near them There is also separate armour value for mounts but this one does not change anything.

I thought in vanilla they use run_amok attribue rather then berserk attribute they have in DeI. I haven't played vanilla since 2013.

In the case of berserk elephants, I would say kill them only if they're near your general. Otherwise it is usually more convenient to sacrifice some infantry instead of the very expensive animals.

I've noticed that berserk elephants actually don't do damage. I've had them go berserk through my formations and haven't really noticed any significant damage to my infantry units, if at all. So there really isn't a point in having kill elephants, just let them do their thing, wait for them to calm down, then send them after more delicious Pontic Sparabara.

@KAM Yeah they don't run amok permanently in Vanilla, although it does take a good while for them to calm down. @Alfonzo, sounds lucky. I am playing on normal and if an elephant goes amok in my lines it will absolutely wreck units. I usually have them behind the enemy lines so they just run over enemy units.
