I love what you did with the WRE, using a depiction of Honorius on the banner, and moving to a Tau-Rho for the banner. Definitely mixes it up a bit.
Wow! I love the designs of the faction standards! Especially of the mighty Sassanids and the Western Roman Empire!![]()

Beautiful, It seems that I will have to switch to playing with banners on in order to enjoy this beauty in the battle map![]()
Yes, beautiful and I agree, we have to play with banners, for now, so ... may I ask where the awesome Ephtalite symbol is coming from?
I don't know very well the Ephtalite artistic production in India and Persia, so I find it absolutely interesting.
The main crescent shaped symbol, is a royal tamga ( "dynastic stamp" of sorts, used by Eurasian nomadic tribes ) found on a coin minted by the 5th century Hephthalite king Lakhana. Finally, I've also incorporated the Wheel of Dharma, representing, of course, the teachings of Buddha. The three stars is a motif found on banners/flags supposedly belonging to the Hephthalites. I'm not sure of it's meaning though.
The Wheel of Dharma, cool!Originally Posted by Joar

So, from what you wrote, we can argue that the Buddha will play His role in 'The Great Game' awaiting for us ...![]()

I'm sure Stephen Eitler or Nadeem would know, but I can't find any fault. Are the Chionite/Kidarite Huns also in the game? They were around until the Hepthaltites overran and absorbed them in the 430's.
Looking forward to more!
Burgundians! There, where it all began!

Very good!
Veritas Temporis Filia
Great!
Lakhmids! very good.
May I ask you Joar, something about 'The Crescent' as symbol?
Actually I know it's a very ancient symbol also extensively used by the Romans ...
... and having read many years ago 'Man and His Symbols', I know that the history of some archetypes
is too complex and ancient to be easily traced in a clear way, but in this interesting case,
what are the sources we can use to link Lakhmids and 'The Crescent'?
That is, how did 'The Crescent' enter in the Arab cultural landscape?
Watching at the history of the VI, VII and VIII centuries this question should be considered of the max importance ....
