Default The Tower of the Hand

    THE TOWER OF THE HAND

The Tower of the Hand is located at the core of the Red Keep. It houses the chambers of the Hand of the King and has stood in place for more than two hundred years, since it was build by King Maegor the Cruel.

    THE TOWER'S CHARACTERISTICS
The tower has a small hall on its own; a long room with a high-vaulted ceiling and bench space for two hundred. In the adjacent quarters the guards reside along the servants in the employ of the Hand. The private audience chamber is not as large as the king's, but has Myrish rugs, wall hangings, and a golden-tinted round window that give it a sense of intimacy.
The Hand's chambers are located at the top floor and count with a magnificent fireplace and a towering sight over the Keep, the city and the courtyard below. The current Hand has brought some of his riches, like splendidly woven tapestries and a large carved desk made of golden wood from the Summer Islands.

The Tower also has a solar, and a garderobe. The tower has tall windows with delicate stone tracery.

    THE HAND OF THE KING

    -LORD TYBOLT LANNISTER-

Titles: Lord of Casterly Rock, Warden of the West, Shield of Lannisport, Hand of the King

    Age: 23, born 200 AL
Possesions: Soulfire*, the Valyrian sword reforged from Ice.
Status: Married to Lady Myrcella Hightower.
Children: Lady Sarelle Lannister (born 220 AL), Lady Myrcella Lannister (born 221 AL), Tywin Hill (born 221 AL, son by Lady Elisabeth Plumm), Gerold Lannister (born 222 AL, died 225 AL), Tytos Lannister (born 224 AL)

    Traits (9):

+1 Jousting: The Young Lion of Lannister has been taught from early age how to ride and fight on horse, as fitting for a Lord of his status. He’s a promising jouster, more comfortable on the saddle than with both feet on the ground.
+1 Charisma: Authoritative, handsome and quick Aegon could be considered charismatic; he has been nurtured to rule, command and hold power since he was but a mere toddler.
+2 Survival: He survived the pestilence, the Great Sickness which ravaged the Seven Kingdoms for years. Slender and nimble he is physically fit. His dragon blood makes him resilient to common illnesses.
+2 Battles: Tybolt is an imperious and ruthless leader of men. He certainly can lead his host in the battlefront, being a sound commander. He had his test of fire in the battle of Bramsford where he defeated the Crownlands' army, at a heavy cost.
+1 Duels: Trained from little age by the best swordsman in the West Lord Tybolt certainly has a grasp in swordsmanship.
+1 Income: The Lord of the Rock is fabulously rich and Tybolt has ran his affairs for a long time.
+1 Spymaster: Tybolt is astute and ambitious, a dangerous combination. And he would do whatever is necessary to achieve his own means.

    BIOGRAPHY:

Aurelia Lannister bore Baelor II a son and two daughters; Rhaenys,Aegon and Visenya. But the rule of Baelor Breakspear was weak, the King, unbalanced by his unfortunate marriage and the death of his eldest son, Valarr Targaryen, let the Kingdom slip into chaos and civil war, with warring states disputing the Targaryens’ claim to crown. Aegon was his father favored son and appointed heir, which led to the secession of the Vale, that defended Prince Matarys’ right to the Crown. When the Targaryen were dethroned and Blackfyre assumed control of the Seven Kingdoms Aegon remained as Casterly Rock’s sole heir.

Aurelia, Lady of Casterly Rock, she who had torn apart the Realms and shaped the Kingdoms with her iron will, died unexpectedly leaving behind a young son as Lord of the Westerlands. Recognized as true and sole Lord of the West in a solemn ceremony the child was put under regency formed by Abelar Lannister and the most prominent Lords in the country, including Lord Lefford and Lord Marbrand. In that ceremony he assumed the name of Tybolt Lannister, to honor his mother’s dynasty and its glorious legacy and in order to placate his vassals.

However calm didn’t last long, it was but a break before the storm. A pestilence, like no one had seen before, devastated the realm, a disease of unknown origin and seemingly unstoppable. It didn’t spare poor, nor were Lords safe from it. The Westerlands were shaken from their very foundations; Abelar and Visenya supposedly met their demise at the hands of the plague, as did Ser Eustace Lannister and the faithful hound, Ser Ryker Clegane. Those who remained grew stronger, bolder, richer and more powerful. But the land was devastated, nearly a quarter of the population was wiped out and quite a few Lordly families were extinct, including an entire branch of Lannisters of Lannisport.

Aegon grew to become a young, nimble and handsome man, with sharp smiles and a quick mind. He grew to be a true Lion, donning a golden mane, green eyes sparkled with gold (said to freeze a man on the spot) and a pale, delicate skin. The chiseled features of his father could be recognized on his face. However is shorter and thinner than Baelor, some say he resembles more the ill-fated Valarr.

The young Lord knows how to enjoy his status and spends his wealth freely, spending hours jousting, whoring, and hunting, like a spoiled son of the aristocracy. However he cannot be accused of not ruling his lands as he should, for he dispatches every day with his counselors and advisers and the West is slowly flourishing again. Clearly the unlimited wealth provided by the large mines of the West shielded it from economical stagnation.

Lord Tybolt married Lady Myrcella Hightower in year 220 AL, securing an alliance with House Hightower and renewing the friendship with the Reach, so fluent in Lady Aurelia's times. From thei union have been born three children, a golden son and heir, Gerold, and two daughters, the West's delight.

The West, leaded by Lord Tybolt rose against the tyrant, Haegon Blackfyre and gained the throne for Prince Maekar Targaryen of Summerhall, brother of the former King, Baelor Breakspear. Once again Targaryen rule over the Seven Kingdoms and the King has bestowed the honorable office of Hand of the King over his nephew Tybolt who swiftly assumed his new office and obligations. A new era has been inaugurated and Lannister now hold more power than they did in the past during the days of the glorious Aurelia.

    FAMILY:

BAELOR “BREAKSPEAR” TARGARYEN, married with AURELIA "THE GLORIOUS" LANNISTER, their children:
->Rhaenys Targaryen, married with Donnel Lefford.
    -->Tanton Lefford
->Tybolt Lannister, born Aegon Targaryen, married with Lady Myrcella Hightower:
-->Sarelle Lannister, Myrcella Lannister, Gerold Lannister, Tytos Lannister.
->Visenya Targaryen, died in the Great Sickness, but her body was never found.

Ser Guy Lannister, Aurelia's cousin, dead.

->Ser Abelar Lannister, his first son. He died in the Great Sickness (but the causes of his death were suspicious). Married the dwarf Cersei Tully and fathered:
-->Tyrion Lannister, dwarf, unworthy wielder of Soulfire, Abelar's Valyrian sword, reforged from Ice.
-->Victoria Lannister, married with Leo Reyne, the Last Red Lion, died in childbirth, 222 AL.
->Ser Solareon Lannister, his second son. Homosexual, widowed, his wife died in the Great Sickness.
->Ser Eustace Lannister, third son, died in the Great Sickness.

    Red: Dead.
    Bold: Main.
    Italic: Auxes.

    HOUSEHOLD:

-Ser Ilyn Kenning: Lord Tybolt captain of guards. A grizzled veteran from the Blackfyre wars and those held during the reign of Baelor. Hard, sinewy and loyal. He comes from a cousin line of the Kenning of Kayce.
-Maester Rucifer: Lord Tybolt's main maester, he is a Lannister of Lannisport, golden haired and portly. He is used to the luxurious life of Casterly Rock and has grown fatand hedonist. However his mind is unequaled in the West and is a gifted maester. Tybolt lets him indulge in pleasures while he is useful as his court's chief maester.
-The Green Bard: Green from head to toe Thomas Rivers knows every song and poem in the realm. A skilled composer and singer and Tybolt's favored bard.
-Lady Elisabeth Plumm: A daughter of the late Lord Ossifer Plumm and Elaena Targaryen she is the official mistress of Lord Tybolt, widow, mother and ten years her senior, something shocking for many. Her beauty is unparalleled in the whole West, purple eyes and fair hair, like polished silver and gold woven.
-Ser Robb Westerling: Lord Tybolt's closest friend. Blonde, quick in laugh and anger, the perfect partner for whoring and partying. He's the third in line to inherit the Crag.

    -Baelor Breakspear:

Albeit in disguise, Baelor Breakspear joined his son's court several years ago. Now he acts as his shadow, his go-in-between, his trusted right hand.

    Traits (12):
+3 Duel: A fine swordsman. On his prime Baelor was known as one of the finest swords in the Realm.
+3 Survival: Resilient, healthy and strong. Baelor sports a robust frame, muscular and tall.
+3 Battle: Leader of men, and years have granted him experience.
+2 Counterspy: Secretive, quiet, hardened by years of exile.
+1 Joust: Fine rider and a fine jouster.

    THE HAND'S GUARD:
    -Hire Cost: 20,000 Dragons
    Upkeep Cost: 6000 Dragons
    Points: 1,050
Skill: These troops form the personal bodyguard of the Lord in a battlefield situation. Formed of minor nobility, wards, trusted retainers and second sons of wealthy lords, these men represent the best equipped fighting force Westeros can field, composed of men with the financial means to buy the best and spend most of their time in training. If these men are present as the Lord's bodyguard the Lord gains +2 to the post-battle condition roll (eg dead, captured, wounded, free) and, if the Lord to which they are attached leads a cavalry charge, these men form the highly-armoured spear tip granting the charge an additional +1 modifier. They wear the Lannister colors and their helmets are crested by a lion's head. The guards wear crimson cloaks fastened by a golden brooch in the shape of a hand.

They are led by stern guards through the hall in the lower floor to the Hand's audience chamber, from the wall hang fine tapestries, some of them depicting the combined heraldry of Lord Tybolt, the dragon and the lion. There, in the audience hall, sat Tybolt in a carved chair, already dispatching with some bureaucrats and attendants. His chest was adorned by the necklace worn by the Hand of the King, his badge of office.

"Lady Darklyn of Duskendale. Lady Rhae and Lord Jaeharys, be welcome"

His green and gold eyes follow Lady Darklyn as she approaches him.

The three nobles bow. "Thank you, My lord Hand." Darklyn pauses for a moment. " I have come to inquire if you would be interested in resuming trade between Duskendale and Casterly Rock that was unfortunately severed in the recent conflict." Jaehaerys and Rhae remain silent, the former thinking about raising the offered marriage when Maekar and Tybolt attempted to win over his mother's forces while the latter silently observes the proceedings.

"Of course, trade may be resumed between Duskendale and Casterly Rock, our carracks will again arrive to your harbor, Lady Elizabel. The King's peace has been restored, and its time to resume trade and economical activity. The guilds of Lannisport will cheer in joy when the news of the renewed trade arrive to their ears"

"Thank you, my lord Hand. The guilds of Duskendale will also be pleased to hear of the revived trade, the gold and other minerals provided by your mines became very popular amongst the artisans and other craftsmen." "Or because I will not enact the taxation I mentioned as a possibility to shore up the economy if lanes could not be formed." Darklyn thinks to herself.

"Honestly, congratulations its an honor not even for your family but for the whole Westerlands" Ben says sincerely.

"Indeed, it is a recognition of our prowess and might, cousin"

Lord Tybolt eyes his cousin with his gold-and-green eyes.

"A cousin of mine cannot be without a proper match. Tendring might be poor compared to other Westerlander seats, but its proud, old and worthy. I shall arrange you a marriage with a Lady of high birth and proper qualifications. Also I thought about appointing you as the captain of my guard here in the capital"

Elizabel thinks on the matter for a few minutes. "Do you refer to the offer of my son marrying...Lady Kayce, was it? Or a different one, my lord hand?"She pauses for a moment, a pensive expression on her face. "I may be interested in increasing ties between the Westerlands and Duskendale beyond trade.."

Ben expected much from his influential Liege but this was stunning
Lord Benedict's eyes grow a bit after Tybolts last 2 sentences
"being part of your guard would be an great honor, being the captain would be the greatest esteem my Lord"
it seems like the feast would turn into his favor after all
"Maybe there is something i can do for you too. my cousin, Leony was held as a ward at Pentos by a far relative of mine. this relative has a lot of money, that much i could have nerver spend on Leony's education. she finally came back after getting mature, i know you my Liege have to marry others but maybe your brother or an other of yours could marry her" he says enthusiastic

Elizabel thinks on the matter for some time, her expression changing to reveal a bit of disappointment. Her daughter Rhae nervously twirls a lock of her hair, watching her mother with a nervous smile. Darklyn sighs, and speaks in a reluctant tone. "My lord Hand, I have no cousins available and while my daughters are eligible, I will not marry them off without having them meet the potential suitor at least once."
