    Default Installation Error

Hello, guys. I managed to download all of the .bin files for 6.3 and the .exe files for 6.3 and 6.4 (as suggested).
All of them are in the same folder, and M2TW and Kingdoms expansion are installed on my PC. I launched them as suggested.
The problem is that the setup for SS 6.3 doesn't work: all the files needed for the installation (the ones provided by the .bin files, I'd suppose) seem to be corrupted. Therefore, I can't continue with the installation.
This is really annoying, since it took hours to me to download all the files, and I met a lot of problems with Medieval's installation (my OS is Windows 8, so, y'know what happens).
Any help? I just wanted so much to play this mod.

    Roman Heritage,

It has been found to install outside of Program Files is best with WIN8 as the UAC cannot be fully disabled

Do you mean SS or simply Medieval?
Anyway, it doesn't seem to work even outside of Program files

SS can be installed elsewhere to MTW2, as long as they are in same drive

So, ok, let me take it slowly.
Now I'll disinstall M2 - and reinstall it outside of Program Files, just for my sanity's sake.
Then, I'll run again the setup for SS 6.3.
But couldn'it be just a corrupted file, as the Error says?

I would leave M2, it will be SS6.3/6.4, delete SS6.3, do a System CleanUp and a registry clean, then reinstall 6.3, then try to start it, perhaps play a turn or two, if its fine, then install 6.4. If you can install as Administrator, that is a right click and Run as Admin.

Install SS outside of Prog Files

I thin you misunderstood me, the error is right in the installation of SS. This is the first time I try to install it...and right at the beginning of the setup the following message greets me:

C:\Games\mods\SS6.3\default.cfg : "An error occurred while trying to read the source file: the source file is corrupted"

And that's for every single file that follows. So, what could be the error?
I turned off the UAC, and tried to install it all outside of Program Files. I downloaded all of the mod parts from here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ECH-SUPPORT%29 , on mediafire.
Have no idea why it all doesn't work

Oh, I see, I would tend to a new d/l for each 6.3/6.4, they may have been corrupted

I'll try downloading them again later, from a different site. Hope it goes better...
could you suggest me some links which are known to be good? Thanks for the attention, by the way!

Right now, I'm so desperate I'm downloading 6.0 version.
I've searched on the whole internet for three days and all of the working links gave me corrupted files.
So, I'm really in need of a working link right now

You are not going to want to hear this, but I just d/l Bin 1 from Mediafire, no problems for me, this must be a local problem or perhaps the setting of your PC. You are aware that you have to d/l all 5 Bin Files and the Exe File

But I turned off the UAC, Medieval 2 is in C:\Games...and the path for SS is obviously C:\Games\Mods, too.
So...is there any simple thing I forgot to do? Because I downloaded all of the .bin files and the .exe from Mediafire, and it says me I have corrupted files. Could it be any other thing I forgot?

Default Re: Guareented Working Install Guide for ss6.4 (with Pictures)

Hello! I made a lot of posts about it (and for this, I apologize towards the forum moderators) in the hope of gaining the better hopes of being helped.
You see, I downloaded all of the needed files for SS 6.3 from the links given (Mediafire) and I installed Medieval II in C:\Games, with the UAC turned off (I run on Win 8).
However, when I run as admin ss6-.exe, after the first steps (path, create desktop icon) it tells me that it ncurred in a corrupted file and therefore the source is invalid. And I'm left with the infamous "Retry, Ignore or Abort" options. I tried several times to download the files, from several platforms. What coult it be?

PS: strangely, the path to me is C:\Games\Mods, because all of the M2TW files seem to have been installed simply in C:\Games, and not in a proper SEGA and Medieval 2 folder.
Any help? Please, I'm really interested in playing this mod. M2 is my favourite TW game and playing it in vanilla isn't the same thing, seeing what grand goals have been reached with this mod.

Please, Please stop posting everywhere, keep it on this thread, it does not help multiple posting different threads.

Please, don't hit me - I finally managed to solve it all. After tons of web surfing I found a working link, and after some initial trouble installation worked.
Now, let me apologize about my behaviour on this thread - you see, I posted it on multiple threads 'cause I wanted to gain as much help I could gain. I did not know if there was anything wrong with UAC, Medieval's installation, or corrupted files (and in this latter case, where could I find good files).
I know I have posted it nearly anywhere, but trust me, it was in good faith. Btw, + rep for all your attention - and, I hope your patience.
All my future posting will be about gameplay tips and stuff like this, I promise
