    Default Letters to God

Here's a somewhat interesting article I read today in the Manhattan Mercury

Letters to God found in Ocean
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.- Some of the lteers are comical (a man asking God to let him win the lottery, twice), others are heartbreaking (a distraught Teenasking forgiveness for an abortion).

the letters---about 300 of them in all, sent to a New Jersey Minister--- ended up dumped in the ocean, most of them unopened.
The minister died two years ago at 9. How the letters, some dating to 1973 wound up bobbing to the surface is a mystery.

"there are hundreds of lives here, a lot of struggle, washed up on the beach," said Bill Lacovara, a Ventor Insurance adjuster who was fishing last month with his son when he spotted a flowered plastic shopping bag and waded out to retrieve it.

""This is just a hint of what realy happens. How many letters like this all over the world aren't being opened or answered?"

many of the letters were addressed to Rev. Grady Cooper, althoug many more simply said "alter". According to the text of several of them, they were intended to be placed on a church's altar and prayed over by the minister, the congregation, or both.

You know why? Because God feels frustrating about these type of letters, so he/she dumped all of them into sea!!!

Just think about it, when there are millions of people praying for you because everything, would you feel frustrating?

God has already read all of those letters and obviously just threw them out along with the rest of the trash.
What? The guy has billions of these things, you expect him to keep them all?

Moved to the Ethos, as the topic was more religiously inclined.

and....? What else are we supposed to do with them? Burn them? Bury them in a dump? Hide them underground of a church?

    A letter to god...

Some people just crack me up...
I sin for the good of humankind
"I praise, I do not reproach, [nihilism's] arrival. I believe it is one of the greatest crises, a moment of the deepest self-reflection of humanity. Whether man recovers from it, whether he becomes master of this crisis, is a question of his strength."

That is like trying to write a letter to an already dead person. Are people seriously this engrained in there religion that they think writing a letter to heaven is really going to work?

I think it's because God is dyslectic. Every letter ever written to him is an insult to his condition (the dyslectic and the omnipotent).

While the therapeutic benefits of having a solid prayer written and sent out to be physically worked over by a Priest is evidently the motivation behind this behaviour, i still fail to see how the personal connection of simple prayer is not good enough.

Regardless of the preposterous thought that the letter would somehow help more than prayer.

Or even that God could even help you...

I guess her lust, then her fear easily overrode her religious beliefs.
If God were a man he'd be me.

At first i simply observed. But i found that without investment in others, life serves no purpose.
