Weird Screen Glitch

So when I launch Europa Barbarorum II I get this:



I thought it might have been a problem with Medieval II in general (which I had just installed) but Medieval II fills up the whole screen when it launches. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks.

I have that issue too.

When you load the game, open the options tab and then select the video options. Open the advanced options, you may have to play around with the various resolutions till it fills your entire screen, on my computer 1024x768 works the best. Also make sure you have the setting set to widescreen if you have one and do not forget to also adjust the resolutions for both the campaign map and battle map.

The other thing I did to get rid of the windowed appearance was to open the .cfg file using notepad++ and comment out (by using the ; symbol) the following:
