    Default Medieval and Compatibility Issue

Hello, guys - I'm sorry if this results in any double posting or stuff like that, but I'm in serious need of help.
My PC runs on Windows 8, and I already succesfully installed our beloved Medieval 2 almost a year ago. Sometimes the infamous compatibility issue popped up, but a simple reinstallation worked fine and solved the problem.
So, sick of my Rome II experience, I decided to go back to my old Medieval II, and have fun with some mods. Although Medieval 2 ran fine on my PC 'til two or three months ago, today the compatibility issue (the "improve to 98/2000" stuff) popped up again. I disinstalled and reinstalled it...didn't work.
Tried all the "fix compatibility issue" options available on Windows 8, and it didn't work. Ran it as admin, and the outcome didn't change.
Isn't there anyone who could help me with this awful situation?
    Please, please
Sorry for my bad english anyway, no native speaker. Thanks btw

    Win 8 and Medieval2 =
    1. Log in as Administrator. You don't you're not playing.
    2. Disable the UAC, preferably via the registry.
    3. Take ownership of C: drive. It can be done even in Win 8.
    4. Install the game in a folder like C:\Games, including the Steam version.

Are these all different solutions or part of a single one?
Btw, since I bought my PC I've only used the account it required me to create on day 1. So I'd presume this is the current admin of the PC...
Just tell me if I have to do all of this, or just some things.
As for the installation, it lets me avoid the compatibility advice only if I manually run the setup from the PC. So, let me know, please

All steps required. Win 8 and the anti-Microsoft lawyers have created this.
It's a pain in the butt but worth it in the long run.

I'll try tomorrow morning - btw, really thanks for your help and patience.
Can't wait to play a REAL Total War game - with a little help from modders I'll let you know how it goes.
