Why is it that no total war game comes with a world map expansion? yes there are world map mods but mods are very buggy and almost always crash.

The map has been expanded- Scandinavia is no longer terra incognita- what else do you want? India? China? Those are out of the scope of this game.

because this game is called ATTILA total war. Did attila ever go to far east asia? not likely. did attila go to south/north america? how about Australia? did he ever go to south africa? the answer to all of those are a resounding NO. so that is why we have a euro-centric game.
Simply put, every extra region and extra faction adds to loading times and reduces game performance. In the interest of avoiding slowing the game to a grinding halt, the line has to be drawn somewhere.
Seeing as the game focuses on the fall of the Roman Empire, I'd say cutting the map off at North Africa, Scandinavia, India and the Atlantic is perfectly reasonable. Rome's influence never expanded much farther anyway.

There's no reason for them to have a world map or the whole of the Eurasian land mass + North africa. It would entail more work that would dilute efforts to the West if they had to worry about all that territory from Tocharia to China. Though there is plenty of reason for them to have kept the Transoxania region and it's rather disappointing that we've lost it given the Hephalite-Sassanian wars. Still will be possible, probable even, for the Huns to harass the Sassanids in the Central Asian corridor but the map ends around the Khorasan province.
most of the games are focused on an era, personalty or empire. Theres no reason to have a world map. Empire came the closest and it arguably is the worst of the total war games. CA does way better when they narrow thier focus.

Instead of a world map I rather see a much more detailed map like the CIG or the HATG campaign maps but the size of the regular campaign map so their are a ton of more proviences and more minor factions
I think we will begin to see a world map again if CA decides to make a Victorian era Total War. I didn't like Empires at all, many units were too similar and other things.
I think CA expanded the map slightly east in Attila (besides adding new provinces in Scandinavia and Russia). I saw a few 'western' Indian factions on the last video.
Its not that bad to see the influence of east Asia .
Sassanians had good relations with China in their age .
I dont htink a world map would work. Many and more societies in africa and america didnt have regular settlements (like cities) that could properly be shown in game.
the same with nomads, how do you create their settlements?
I'd love a world map, I think it would be interesting to see so many factions and how they all develop in the game.
rome vs a Chinese dynasty would be brilliant.
