How can i use the Senate Faction slot?

In TE the senate has been removed, i was wondering if its possible to mod it back in? (without senate missions and all the rest - all i want is the faction slot). If it is could someone please tell me how?

I made an attempt, made them available in custom battles; and got the SPQR icon to appear when you choose factions for the campaign; but when i click it goes straight back to the single player menu. Any one know how?

u cant use senate's faction slot becasue all those hardcoaded stuff,mission system and .............
al u can do is replace existing faction slot to whatever faction u want to include in ur game

But EB are using the Senate slot to put in a new faction; i was just wondering how i could do it for Terrae Expugnadae.

well they must have changed internal name of senate faction
which will be a Herculean task

Or they changed its culture. Because of the way i've modded TE, if you just try to put the senate faction back into the game it wont work. You need to edit their culture.
