Zagreb province

I just saw on some pics and in some mods that there is a Zagreb province almost the size of Yugoslavia which is stupid to say atleast since it would be like having province of London across entire UK,i mean entire Croatia was once part of Serbian state and vice versa,all kings were related to each other by blood.So as much stupid as i find it that Serbia wasen't included as a major faction but to even exclude the name Serbia of a province and Belgrade simply looks like a bit more than a simple "miss" in historical acuracy at which CA is getting really good these few last titles,don't get me wrong i don't wan't Croatia eliminated i want, as quite a number of other people to have province like Serbia inclded atleast as a rebel faction,and probably Kosovo too since one of the most important battles took place there...

i agree with you on this one. I saw that as well. I dont like the way they set up the regions expecially on balkan.

I've red that Bucharest was founded in 1459 by Vlad the Third Dracula but I think I saw that city on pics

yes they are all "melty-like" i don't like it,also the same old thing with the east ,Syria-Egypt-Jerusalim = entire middle east ...

Agreed. It's totally absurd to put this kind of Yugoslavia-like provinces in Medieval time period and to call it "Zagreb" is even worse since it covers three very distinct areas of Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia that could be easily diversified. Instead we usually get maps where Istria is part of Venice or Austrian province, Dalmatia is some kind of beach from Istria to Albania, Baranja, Vojvodina end up in Hungary, southern Serbian territories in Bulgaria/Macedonia/Greece and what is left they put into this kind of one-size-fits-all province that makes no sense...

P.S. However, it isn't correct that Serbia was once entirely part of Croatia or vice versa.

marcus that is a very good point. That territory never looked like that in the history. 1st time that the territory looked like on the map was after ww1. Never before that territory looked nothing like it looks now.

Because of staff like that I'll not buy a game until there is nice mod finished which will show real Serbian power in that era

you're pretty caustic towards other people's opinions.

...anyway, serbian power is definately disputable. i strongly doubt that serbia is the powerhouse that few have described on these boards. history is written by the victors, and if serbia was so victorious, why then does it not have a place among the glorious?

sounds like nationalistic feelings and hub-bub if you ask me...

But it does! You don't need to be Serbian to now this. Perhaps your source has missing pages.

Anyway looks like CA hadn't entirely forgotten the serbs. Just to add insult to injury you can recruit serb mercs in Croatia???

Actually, that is historically very accurate. "Albanian Cavalry" is, on the other hand, nowhere near accurate.

Canada isn't in...why i don't know, looking at some things here,i am amased they didn't put it in ...maybe becouse it doesen't exists yet ...or the CA artists coudn't paint the marijuana leaf correct

About Serbian medieval power...it all depends how you look at it i won't get into sluger competition which contry is "cooler" mine or yours,but lets for example take one less warlike thing that was made in Serbia at that time...Dusanov Zakonik (Dushan's Law)first law that preached the law same for everybody far from the fact that it was perfect but at the time in any contry a knight or a lord could kill a peasant just for kicks,while in Serbia,Lord or knight would get his hand choped off for killing somebody and if that reapets ,death...

"glorious"...you mean like the British who made their empire on slaves and stealing from other nations,or the french who did the same but mainly in africa,or the German who did the same to your people ,or the russian where peasants died in thousands every year durring winter,or the spanish and their extermination of astecz,not all victors fight for the right thing ...

Don't turn this into a fight about why Serbia should or shouldn't be in the game, there's been more than enough of that, the point has been proven over and over. It would be nice to have Serbia in the game, as well as Croatia and half a dozen of other factions, but some marketing manager calculated that none of those countries were "cool" enough to be worth the investment. Dusan or Tomislav could be some kind of dishes as far as it's his concern, who gives a damn anyway, just some history geeks that represent like 2% of the targeted population? Besides, they're gonna buy the game anyway...

Still, I think the least that could be made is somewhat true provinces, this way it's just plain insulting.

Yes, it's indisputable that Serbia is a deserving faction. But I'm entirely in agreement on the provinces issue. It's just more laziness from CA. Honestly, a Jugoslavia province... Hungary one enormous province to itself... Dyrrachium given the modern Italian name of 'Durazzo'... Sis made into the modern Turkish city of Adana... The list goes on.

yeah its the stupid to have yugoslavia province in medieval time. It would be nice if serbia was in as a faction, because historically it was a powerfull country (after tzar dusan died it splitted into more serbian provinces). In his rule, serbia had a good law written by tzar dusan (there is also a web site abou that on http://www.dusanov-zakonik.co.yu/indexe.html ). In the time of his rule, london still had mud roads, since serbian capital had well organised roads. Just comparing.
Ok i went a bit off track. There is no much argument there that serbia is not a faction, they didnt put it, ah well mods will always fix that. But what made me angry is that there is actually no serbia at all as a province or bosnia. Zagreb province is just not right.

people i am not getting into a fight about what contry should be in i am just saying that the idea with Zagreb province is stupid ,and no i won't buy a legal version or MTW2 until some mod adds in Serbia (than probably) but what does that has to do with anything ?! so people in short don't get into another pencil fight
