No, if the game is bad, it would be doing the same mistake twice, but if the game is good (which it seems to be, at least in the context of fun gameplay) then I´d gladly purchase the special edition which I like a lot.
Perhaps. Factors in favour: game as early as possible, free stuff. Factors against: rewarding such marketing ploys when the quality of the game is still unknown, the state of Rome 2 on release, the unjustifiably high price. Can pick up later, cheaper and patched. Probably not then, in summary, though I might in a moment of weakness.

Absolutely not. After thestorm that was RTW2's release I wont pre-order another CA game again. I also wont be buying it day one (or possibly till its on sale) unless it gets good community reviews. Which if you knew me is a complete turn around for me, I used to never listen to forums and buy CA products day one no matter what. Now.....well im a spurned lover waiting for CA to redeem itself.

I choose not to pre-order Rome 2 even when I thought it would not be too bad and I will not pre-order Attila, Especially with the pre-order BS they are still pulling like last year (Ironic that something meant to influence me to buy it early is only making me want to buy it less).
I think may not even buy at all if it continues to make the same mistakes as the last game which makes me sad because I was really looking foreword to this more then even Rome 2.
I think so. I'll end up buying it anyway so why not.

I really do not understand your point, considering that lately you can't play the game you pre order anyway, because it's to much to expect that the game works on launch these days. Besides CA just doesn't deserve that much trust and money it unlike for example CD Projekt Red.
Meh I get Vikings. Besides 300kr is not much money for me, like an hour and a bit worth of work. I spend way more on an average Saturday. I fully understand younger people on a tighter budget might be more conservative, but for me its not a big deal to take this "gamble" Its probably going to be Napoleon to Rome's Empire, but maybe it wont and it will be bad. Care.![]()
Rome 2 is a good game now, multiplayer is fun. But I'm not a huge fan of ancient times, so now I can play as anachronistic vikings instead of the to me boring ancient factions so yey, it will probably be worth it. Besides I should be done with DA: Inquisition by February and back in mood for some strategy, so it fits.
Barbarian invasion was way more fun than Rome 1 as well.

Yes because the preorder bonus is something that I will alway get it in the end anyway even when I don't play it. Anyway I will preorder on 14th February, maybe seduce my wife to gift it to me.![]()
You know, I am not enjoying my favourite faction, Carthage, campaigns in Rome II. Several reasons, you see?. So I won't be pre ordering, despite all the previews, including the historical inaccuracies, seem very much appealing. I understand that they look so for many people but the Rome II gameplay is not for me. I will wait and see this time.

In faecorum semper, solum profundum variat.
Probably the game will be more advanced than Rome II, so most of its problems won't happen this time, which is a good thing, but I do not get used to this new gameplay and I fear the new features, like siege scalation, because I do not find them realistic at some point and new features seem to be unbalanced too often at reléase, many times keep on being so because of their design.
And a demo would help to take a decision about buying the game.

No because it lacks historical accuracy
The Norse have been more into heavy cavalry into this time not into being vikings before their time .
I heard a Swedish radio program , talking about graves found on an Estonian island(Saaremaa) of pre-Viking Norse and they confirmed that Norse troops of that period - Vendel - it called were mounted ,used stirups unknown yet in continent and even said that Tolkien studied Vendel period and probably made his riders of Rohan ,Rohirrim by inspiration.

That is why to insert the viking cliche before the Vikings is wrong . The profit is not everything .

I like the games. I have the money. I want to play it. Of course, I'll pre-order it. That simple.

Definitely, I don't want to wait for price reductions 8 months after release so I would be buying it day one anyway. Might as well get free DLC with the pre-order.
I'm not going to pay full price for this game.
will preorder then more info has been released

No, nor I am going to buy it at all. I started playing Rome II after a year since I bought it and I think that it will do for a couple of years because I want to play at least one campaign with all the available factions.
Also, I don't think I'm going to buy another TW game, for two reasons: First, I don't want to encourage a company that has proven itself untrustworthy more than once. Secondly, there are great mods for my beloved Medieval II (Stainless Steel, Third Age etc) that I haven't played yet and I can get for free. Also, in two years, Europa Barbarorum II will be refined to the extreme. So, I don't think I will need another TW game, I already have all of them from Rome to Rome II. I'm only going to buy the complete package of Rome II's DLCs during a Steam sale because I hate having the feeling I'm playing a game with missing pieces.
