Yes it is true, and killing yourself is a bit of an extreme reaction.
Remember, you only see years on the faction overview screen now, on the camapign map you just see the number of turns passed.

Just wondering why if you can see the years on the faction overview screen they haven't simply put them on the campaign map as well? Seems odd.Originally Posted by Lusted
This 2 years per turn is the #1 thing I'm seeing people complaining about here and at the official forums.
Go ahead then... It is true.
Although some people might find it a bit over-exaggerated to kill oneself because of a game.
Can someone make a mod to fix this?
I'm thinking that type of thing would be hard coded, could be wrong but even if it isn't 2 years per turn sounds about right for me. Since the game starts so early and ends after the rennaisance begins it would take close to 500 turns if only one year passed per turn.Originally Posted by RTR Fan
There were only 2 turns per year in RTW and EB had 4 turns per year...
In other words it can be fixed using scripting. There could be 10 turns per year if someone wanted...I think...

We don't know yet the game isn't out yet.
EDIT; jp its 2 years per turn, not 2 turns per year.

225 turns is too little.

Without it, people would never play all the way to the endgame, and likely never even see the Aztecs, let alone conquer them. Same goes for gunpowder.
Imagine if they'd kept Rome's system, the campaign would be about 1000 turns!
That's ok if all your content is gained early on, but for historical reasons CA can't just give you gunpowder or open the new world every time you build a certain building.
I would have liked 1000 turns. 2 turns per year.It looks more realistic that way.
1000 turns = year 2006? :hmmm:Originally Posted by RTR Fan

Because realism adds something to the overall feeling of the game.Originally Posted by carl-the-conqueror
Yes, but given the fact it would never take you 1000 turns to complete the game, it would make the inclusion of the Aztecs pointless. I think 225 turns is a good length, and you can always play beyond 225 turns.

well i think you have to have your facitons objective done by then(such as hold rome, 45 provinces ect) but if you want to keep on conquering you can keep playing and everything will be the same, just no new events.Originally Posted by ProudNerd
