Yes... I think you may have made a slight error, I am almost certain that that segmata in your pic is in fact heat treated steel (burnished) to make it look black. i have seen this before, you can even see some of the metal on the edges... Sometimes it is also called blue steel... Its not leather though... Its steel.

actually the leather segment armor has nothing to do with the black/blue armor pic. the first pic is just an update to the leather armor for legion III, the second pic was just an idea for a flavor unit I may create.

Does anyone have a working modlist of campaign and/ or battle mods that are fully compatible with ILOR?

I love this mod, but I can't motivate myself to play vanilla....the battle mechanics and the campaign are just way off in vanilla.

So if anyone got working mods with the ILOR please tell me

    Cheers guys

I have not a list but every mod that doesn't modify roman augustan and imperial units should be compatible. For example, radious mods (AI mod, campaign mod, economy and research mod) except the battle mod are compatible; the unit packs are also compatibles but unit stats are balanced for radious battle mod wich is not compatible.

    thanks mate.

Can anyone confirm that those parts of radious mod work with ILOR?

I think the Castra Recruitment System might get messed up by campaign mods? No?

overhauls tend to alter unit stats. Unit packs from other authors may load with an overhaul, however the unit stats will usually be way off.

    Thanks for the reply Leonardo.

I just had half a day off and played like 5 hours straight with the ILOR and vanilla.

The units are so awesome, however the vanilla combat is just so annoying, especially compared to DeI or Vae Victis.

The vanilla units look kind of odd too next to your masterful pieces of art

I just hope that one day this great mod will be available as a submod to DeI or VV.

Cheers and thanks for the great work.

I agree, he has put so much work in to the mod but, though nice eye candy, it pales when playing other more grande mods like DEL for instance, with many changes. Vanilla is awful, its for arm chair gamers who really don't want to have to think to much, and play an unimaginative game.
I really don't under stand why the author has not made his wok available to other popular mods I am sure he would get even ,more "rep" There are Mods that have a bigger more holistic view of the game and modding as a whole (sharing ones work) as i did many years ago with Empire and Napoleon. I have never used this mod as vanilla is awful, along with the AI... Its not enough to go all hot and warm at eye candy... a game is more than that, and to be fair there has been some amazing work done here on this forum that takes the vanilla game to where it should have been on release (modding tools taking in to consideration) This is a great mod, but on its own really is boring because it is only compatible with vanilla. This is just my opinion, one of many.

    sheesh!!! again with this?

First of all this mod is its own entity, has its own fan-base and does not need to be rolled into any overhaul if that is what you are implying. ILOR is the most popular Roman legion mod there is, even with only vanilla unit stats. The Players that actually subscribe and use this mod are what matters, not 'reps" from this site. last i checked there were 14,500 subscribers, so there are ample players that do not use overhauls. just because these arm chair gamers are not using the particular overhaul you are using does not mean they prefer a less imaginative game or prefer to 'not to think to much', that is an arrogant assumption.

Secondly, I did the work on this project for my vision of the game, not for the vision of another modder. just because you allow your work to be used by other modders does not mean i must follow suit. I do not see any reason why i should allow another modder to benefit from my hard work. Everything i have created is meant to benefit the fans of ILOR.

As i have said before, I am to busy creating new content and refining my existing work to be concerned about maintaining compatibly patches. if anyone wishes to create a db file patch to make ILOR compatible with a particular overhaul then that is fine by me. however unraveling two different mods and melding the two is not for the faint of heart. in addition, maintaining and updating said patch every-time each mod updates can be tiresome, ILOR has had 139 updates so far.

instead of repeatedly griping about this, perhaps you should get out the db editor and get to work.

i am not sure. i am considering it since i do not believe kaziel will be finishing his republic mod any time soon. if i do it will as a separate add-on pack.

So apparently its not a released unit.
It would be great if you actually decide to release a republican pack

Amazing work. Is it possible to give roman officers those roman officer's boots, those Perone leather boots with uncovered toes? like in here http://www.roman-reenactor.com/pero%...n%20shoes.html

some of the winter legions i created have centurions wearing boots inspired by the movie "centurion. " The link you sent is interesting i may consider creating that exact piece when i re-work the centurions.

Thats great, However, centurions are not officers, i believe centurions wore legionary sandals mostly but i think they did wear leather shoes sometimes but not the Perone boots. I really can't stand Roman officers in R2tw wearing legionary sandals 'caligae' Officers like Generals, Military Tribunes, Legates etc, would have wear those Perone boots amongst others. Also, did you consider giving Officers Eagle Gladius and Eagle Spathas?? Roman Officers used eagle headed swords.

ok , since i have not played the CIG campaing yet i am considering making and exclusive pack for it. My idea is to recreate the legions ceaser used long with my castra-system.

I have Incorporated some of the work of kaziel along with my new models, helmets, scabbards, clasp, shields etc.. i created for this time frame. This is a very early model and there is still very much to do, but this should give idea on the direction i am going. if someone post would like to post information on the legions ceaser used for this campaign as well as shield patterns, i would appreciate it as it would save me some time
