Problem with main menu background

Normally,Medieval 2's(and Kingdoms')main menu background is some soldiers who are marching.It was like this in the first times I played.Now,the main menu background is only a stationary image with some soldiers and 3 horsemen.How to change the menu background back to the marching soldiers?

Are you using a mod? My mod uses one of the loading screens instead of the movie that came with vanilla.

Did you comment out movies or anything in the medieval2.preferences.cfg?
Do they come back if you delete that file?

I deleted the medieval2.preference.cfg,and now the movies are back.Thanks!

Another question.I copied and pasted some settings from my old .cfg file into the new one,and I set the new .cfg file as Read Only.Will it prevent the background movies from dissapearing at some time in the future?

It will depend on which one. There is only one line dealing with the movies. Back up before editing.

The back ground movie plus the intro movies are switched off if you have this setting the CFG file:

When you have this problem change the no_background_fmv to 1 or viceversa in medieval2preferences,always worked for my when the backrouund_fmv swiched to those three polish hussars stationary image.
