    Default General's names

Where are they generated from? Is there a list? I've been wondering if other Ptolemies can spawn besides the starting Philadelphus.

Names are totally random. The factions are divided into groups, to each of them a pool of names is assigned. For example, factions like Persia, Drangiana or Parthia have the same pool of names. You have a pre-defined number of available agents and generals, which are regularly replaced by other men, without any background at all. In fact, the heir of your faction doesn't exist at all, till the faction leader dies. If you are lucky, you could get a Menelaus or Ptolemy as your next leader, but there are cases where the head of the Juli family was Marcus Brutus and the Parthians were ruled by an Assyrian named Tiglath Pilesser.

I don't think that he's asking about their modability.

Wow... looks like they are modable but seems a tedious job. It's all just numbers. I'm assuming each would have to be cross-referenced with actual names in some .loc file under text. Too bad there is 4500 names, which are probably split into forename, surname, etc. Even then, all we can change is the pools which the names are drawn. Don't see any way to influence how each is picked.

If you look using assembly kit you'll see the names, the numbers and the related loc entry in the same page.
