    Default outrageous amounts of money

So I started a new campaign yesterday after spending quite a while playing EBII. I'm playing as Sicily, early, M/H, and I just took Genoa as a vassal, ended turn, and their tribute payment was 77,000. after seeing this I checked the financial rankings and every faction is over 90k. My meager treasury was right around 13k. Oh and this is at turn 30. I don't remember ever seeing that many factions with such good financial standings.. is there some AI money script I have forgotten about?

The AI gets a lot of bonus cash, and it is easy to farm them if you choose to. Keeping factions alive to reap their bonus defeats the purpose of giving them the bonus in order to keep them competitive, and makes all the economy buildings in the tech tree pointless. I prefer killing them off and if you install this re-emergent factions mod they have a chance to come back in force rather than being farmed http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-7-2014-update

In BGRV I altered the AI negotiating strength so they value money more. I'm not suggesting you use bgr, but maybe you could adjust their negotiating strength in the base game. I can't remember how now, but it's probably in the diplomacy file. I think the settings were probably fairly easy to figure out. Maybe it would help with vassal payments too.

Honestly, it is really easy for the player to make that amount of money too, as long as you have a few regions and are not at war wih everyone around you. I'm pretty much always the richest faction on VH/VH, without this influencing my military strength in a bad way. Unlike the player the AI needs at least 5 full stacks to perform decently and is absolutely rubbish at building economical structures so they need the help.

thanks everyone for the replies, I wasn't complaing that they had more money than I did i was just shocked that the vassal payment was so high. I figured it was something to help the ai but i couldn't remember them ever having that much money haha

Take Northern Italy... watch the riches pour in faster then you can spend it.

In my current campaign, I am playing as Teutonic Knights.
I migrated both my armies all the way down to Venice, then traded my original two territories to the HRE for Bologna.
When I got there (took 15 turns) I was over 20,000 in debt... a couple turns later I owned Venice, Bologna, Milan and Genoa (N.Iatly)
In the span of about 25 turns after that (taking no more territories and getting tribute from no one) I was the richest faction in the game.

    This is playing on H/H
