Barbarian Faction Generals

I'm curious how barbarian factions without family trees get new generals? I've quickly used a few cheats to build every building combo possible and there's no option to recruit generals or mercenary ones, at least in my current play-through.

I've played a couple dozen turns as Sweboz, and I've had several "coming of age" events for new generals, even though there's no family tree.

They do have family trees but they are hidden to represent the tribal society. Also as this is a Beta its not completely finished so it is missing quite a bit of what they intend to have after a few more releases
