Crash after monitor-change

Hello guys,

Today I "activated" my new Monitor (a Dell U2414H). Everything went fine until i tryed to start Third Age. I got a message saying "Mtw2 : Fatal graphics error""A fatal graphics error has occurred and the game will now shut down. This is normally caused by having your game graphics options set too high, please try running the game again and lowering your graphics settings before entering battle.".
But first: I get this message when i try to start the game and not when entering a battle and second: it worked fine yesterday - so i guess it has got something to do with the new monitor. It has a 16:9 resolution but when i looked into that i couldn't find any solutions to my problem nore could i find a reason for that crash. Does anyone know what it could by and how to fix this?
