Enabling Console?

Hey all, I had a quick look through threads to check where was best to post this; first post so I apologise if this is in the wrong place.
I've re-downloaded Third Age today (Patch 3.2) and been trying to enable the console; everywhere I've looked online has sad to check Third Age/data/text for 'descr_shortcuts.txt'. The only issue is I can't find this text file anywhere, nor anything that even looks like it. Can anybody help?

Further details; all the other 'descr_?.txt' files (e.g. 'descr_animals.txt) appear under crusades/data not crusades/data/text. The folder name is crusades because I am running the mod through Steam; I don't know whether or not that's relevant.

Do you mean the ingame console, so you may use codes, or I am a bit at a loss?
Then it is the ~ key, or ought to be as I assume you have a UK keyboard

Hiya I have a problem, I am searching for the file descr_shortcut.txt file for lotr third age 3.2 and I simply can not find it in the data folder??
I just wondered If the devs have decided to make this almost impossible to prevent cheating?
anyway if you do know a way to find this file I would be so grateful.
Also I have noticed that when I opened a unit descr file, and edited the armor it would not allow me to save the changes. It just says access denied.

Any way I do enjoy the game but I simply find it impossible to survive any campaign if you can help in any way I thank you

I'm having the same problem.

The problem is that we cannot open the ingame console using the ~ key (or ` key). To enable this one must edit the descr_shortcut.txt file but I can't find it in the folder it should be in. It seems a few other people are also having this issue.

you want to edit the shortcut button yes? Because there is an assigned button, but they are often wrong.

Like in my example with a norwegian keyboard it is the Ø key. Try | first then ¨ and ' andt the key directly right of L

Hiya did you ever find the file you needed to enable the console, I searched every where and just can not find it.
I think the creators of lotr third age have made it very very hard to cheat thats why we can not find the file.
Any way hoping you found out how to do it, if so please share regards
