Have you as of yet come up with a way to fix the effect on population growth? Its one of those extremly annoying unrealistic factors that is starting to get my angry.

i get a simple idea for it.
by script we could be able to do it: assuming that roman-sassanid land will grow in population more than barbarian land, we couls do so
monitor_event (look some turn-based condition, like number of turns <10 and going about 10-20 turns for monitor)
add_population (various settlements) -2000 and so on.
    end_if
    terminate_monitor
    end_monitor.

this will enable a "step" decrease of a certain number of population time to time. i say so because is unworthy to do it for each turn.
maybe there's also a condition that will trigger that if we have a certain number of people, than we will decrease it of 7-8%.

    what do you think?

    this is an idea...
but decreasing it seems kind of odd?... (I mean compared to slow/no increase)

    another thing

I was concerned w/ giving low population for Gaul especially since I also need to get building/city levels fairly high.
giving a low population to a high city level causes non-fatal error (comes out on exit if u have show_err enabled)
so been thinking of killing populations in these cities on script start

having a ravaged city grow at 8% is somewhat of a bother. squalor adds up and i am unable to move soldiers far without having it rebel against me. If you cant deal with the growth effectively as of yet, perhaps making the brothels churches temples give more negative effect on population and uping the law and happyness factors of it. at least it could help a little bit.

this is something that really does need to be dealt with.

sorry I missed this post was wondering why Lopus was mentioning something about being Pinoy, too

anyways, about Franks-those are Attila Reloaded's units mostly, and though they should be more 'civilized' -not slavering barbarians, I personally think those skins are a bit too civilized, especially the cavalry. it is not a major issue, though, so will leave them as is for now.
I will be redoing them sometime, hopefully with help from ATW people, and probably for INVASIO BARBARORUM 2.

have already done this, problem is - this file is using a somewhat different map than in 6.05 so incompatible. will take some time to redo just the 6.05 descr_regions.txt, so might as well go on working for 6.1

Yeah Atilla said so himself that the heavy swordsmen and cavalry units are from Charlemagne's time. I still like them tho, they make the Franks fun to play.
