I like it, but i would suggest working some on the coastlines, especially egypt looks jagged.

The deserts are great are the region names on campaign map?

Egyptian coastlines are designed according to our (limited) knowledge of the real coastlines in antiquity which were quite different then. The inlet near Pelusium is the Bay of Tanis as you can find it in historic atlasses. Today it's an inland lake. But the Delta is still today kind of a jagged affair.
Different coastlines in antiquity are a general problem, because people are used to what they know from today. So we must compromise. I had half an idea to add the Sea of Rye in Kent, but it would have caused too much irritation, with people saying: "What did you do to the White Cliffs of Dover?" So I kept the modern coastline.

The deserts are nothing special, but the civilized areas are. Unfortunately you don't see many roads here, but I will post some stuff with roads later.
The region names appear with a right click (as in vanilla). In these pictures I added them by hand.

    Here is the next portion:

    III ASIA

    Asia ¬ Pergamum
    Lydia ¬ Sardes
    Ionia ¬ Ephesus
    Caria ¬ Halikarnassos
    Lycia ¬ Patara
    Pamphylia ¬ Side
    Pisidia et Lycaonia ¬ Iconium
    Phrygia ¬ Pessinus
    Galatia ¬ Ancyra
    Bithynia ¬ Nicomedia
    Paphlagonia ¬ Sinope
    Pontus ¬ Amaseia
    Cappadocia ¬ Mazaka
    Armenia Minor ¬ Trapezus
    Armenia ¬ Armavir
    Sophene ¬ Arsamosata
    Gordyene ¬ Tigranocerta

Maps are cool, they look fantastic in fact... but everything seems rather bunched together... but hey that's just my opinion! Keep up the awesome work

I heard that question for a while: Don't it feel like getting stuck with all those settlements and forts around Greece?
The answer is: No, it may happen in very rare cases and then it's more a realistic element.
Most of the time, when it gets crowded, the land bridges help you out or you can use your fleet.
Once I have seen the Spartans sending reinforcements from the Peloponnese to Pergamon across the land bridges in the Aegean!
In my current game they are trying to do it again and I'm a bit undecided whether I should try to block them on the Isthmus.

Oh, i meant the coastlines in the red sea.

Yeah, the Red Sea coast is a bit jagged due to the fact that the coastal mountains are pretty high.
Well, that was one of the few parts that I didn't do by myself.
One day I might do some corrections, but for the moment I don't find it disturbing.

Here is Greece with lots of islands and land bridges:

Sorry, I stopped the documentation some time ago, because I gave priority to the new release. I will finish the western parts of the map as soon as possible, but it will take a while, because in two days I'm leaving for my holiday.

So please be patient and if you want to know how certain parts of the map look you can always download the mod.

There are also some parts that should remain a secret. Thus I have decided long time ago that I will never reveal the exact location of Thule and Themiskyra.
