Sometimes democrats have to call it as it is: Bull:wub:

If you have an hour to spare, here is the rest of last night's episode:1 2 3 4 5 6 It was a really good episode.. Bill ought to advise all democratic candidates.

Proof we are truly at the pinnacle of rational discussion in the West

It's a pity Bill Maher doesn't realize a lot of conservatives will (like me) see him in the same light as liberals likely see Ann Coulter.

    His point are absolutely valid.
I can't understand why Democrats aren't using them already.

"You're completely full of ****". "Republicans ethically cleansed Iraq. Just like they did in New Orleans...George Bush is a retarded child Emperor (paraphrasing). "

You honestly think this would resonate with people who aren't already voting Democrat?

    Are those points not true?
I think the best point he made, and one the democrats should be using every day is: "BUSH LOST THE WAR, PERIOD."

Ethnically cleansing New Orleans? How is this different to the kind of stuff Coulter says?

The "ethnic cleaning" parts are just silly, I concur
But the rest is still valid IMO.

Good for Bill Maher for having some balls. The American left needs to stop being such pussies and ditch the whole "passive intellectual" act. Its stupid. The right has done nearly everything wrong this year, this is a time for Democrats to take the offensive and "carpe diem". Please don't  this up Americans, vote out these tards for your country and for us. Please.

He's clearly trying to make serious points here, (hence the posters saying 'good points' etc.), so you can't just brush it off with "it's only a joke".

his point is that the republican party failed to prevent several disasters in the past 6 years, he is alluding to the accusations of blacks that the government purposely responded slower because they knew that minorities were the ones suffering during the whole new orleans thing.

I dont think its a very serious point, I think he was going for the laugh here. Bill Maher is very radical, hes a libertarian and he says ballsy things all the time, which is why people like him. On numerous occasions Ive felt he has said something wrong and i disagreed with him...not now though mostly because I dont think that he thinks the government purposely witheld aid from minorities...he only said it to get a laugh.

Yes, he sure is like the liberal Coulter we all think of him as...

I love listening to Maher more than listening to O'Reilly, and I can state with confidence that Maher is more credible and just a lot less sneakier/dirty/sleazy/distorting as O'Reilly. Well, scratch the sleazy part. I love Maher's views on many things, though I do find myself disagreeing with him, like religion, but he is no idiot, and I hardly think he can be compared to Coulter, that blonde dumb bimbo, those all those words are synonyms...

I think last friday's New Rules were better, much better in fact. It's about how America should just stop talking about how they're the number 1 country in the world, and start acting like it. Very good. 10/27/06 I think.

EDIT: Found it, but I'm sure someone here will want to argue the statistics he uses, or attack his character, instead of the issue...

I watch bill every friday and the guy is an out and out moron. And he's not very funny. Anyone see Robin Williams ont he show, it really showed the difference in caliber between the two
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

nah. I dont see how the two of us can watch the same person, same show, same act and come to two wildly differing opinions about it. Funny how that works eh? I think Maher is great, a very astute political comedian. I think hes sharp, witty and on point with both his omedy and his political observations.

He recycles some jokes though, but he's very good at what he does, and he's smart.

It also looked like he didn't get along with Robin Williams, maybe he felt he was being outdone. Though in fairness, Williams was pretty off-the-wall a little.

Nah he just got a bit annoyed with williams because williams never knows when to shut the hell up with his comments and voices. This is really a very well known problem of Robin Williams, hes not very good at sharing the spotlight because he almost has tourettes syndrome or ADHD or something. comedians parody this trait of his all the time, on SNL and md tv for instance.
