What if god was a republican?

He would have to start wars, hate half the global population (muslims, homosexuals,...), try to make as much money as possible, have his own private gun collection which he would train at firing every sunday, would be unable to pronounce words correctly,...

Oh and while we're saying stupidities maybe after destroying Sodom and Ghomoria go take metamphetamine with some male prostitute and resign from his position because of the scandal.

Thankfully democrats do not have to portray god in their image.

They just use other methods and images...they are no different. Of course the number of conservative democrats invoking god is growing mostly due to failures of Republicans to live up to the name.

So you are saying democrats are claiming to be something they arent and are hypocrites....much like the reference in the first post to the evangelical leader who seems to have been proven a hypocrite? Thank you that proves my point

They will have to live up to or atleast temper their message to appeal to the center/right (ie the bulk of the country) otherwise their wins this Tuesday will be short lived.

Of course, they're politicians. Well, I was partly wrong, democrats have to appeal to religious voters in some states, but on the national stage the republicans need to win over the religious voters to win.

Democrats are not really better than republicans... of course, it all comes down to the individuals, but politic is politic, and you can't expect much frankness and truth out of politicians. My first post was in no way to glorify or defend democrats in any way, I was merely pointing out the stupidity of the other topic about god being democrat...

Nonsense and just as misguided as people who think everything is black and white. Not EVERYTHING is grey either there is an undeniable sense of right and wrong with some things...like murdering someone, slavery etc...all universal to any civilization that wants to exist peacefully. Even the most basic of principles to people who stray from the path of 'typical' behavior in society is do no harm.

what drives me crazy, all these liberals cry about how bad the republicans and big business are and how we need to regulate and watch the "rich people" from taking advantage of the poor. Fine, i understand businesses operate in self interest and they can get out of hand, but this is all under the premise that these problems don't exist within the liberal/ democrat ranks. This assumes that the dems and the gov are a sort of golden child. Nonsense, government corruption makes me want to throw up and is much more dangerous than any corporation
