    Default Any way/sub mods to set Late Era campaign even later?

    While I own both E:TW and N:TW, they both seem to be missing that pike-shot battle that I'm craving. I'm not willing to slog through 300 + years of battles to get to the pike era. Is there a way for me to alter SS 6.4 mod files so that I'll get these pike units earlier (or to change the dates?). Is it as simple as going in to the descr_events file and changing some dates around? Thanks.

    (Sadly, rennaisance total war seems to be dead, and italian wars mod seems to break if used with SS 6.4)

    Get 1648: Thirty Years of War for a good pike and shot experience. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a lot of turns until the gunpowder event with Stainless Steel.

    Doesn't seem to be compatible with some of the submods I'm running, or the new Steam update. :/ I may just try fiddling with the data files and see if I can't accelerate things by a hundred years or so.

    In your mods/data/campaign/late/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign you should find descr_strat. In there you can alter the start and end date of your campaign, I use it to make mine last to 1640. However, I'm not sure if this will break event triggers for certain units, to be safe, I'd say check in descr_events which event triggers which units.

    You can do it with a bit of modding.

    Firstly you need to set the startdate of your campaign to a later date after which you have to lower the event value for events to happen earlier...some editing in the buildings/settlement populations, mercenary units and so on and you are good to go.

    ...and you are right, this mod seriously needs such submod,

    for now, I recommend the unfinished 1450 campaign;

    Thanks for the replies - I will do some research of my own and adjust starting dates accordingly.
