Default How Much Did You Spend on Upgrades Just for MTW 2

I just bought an Insiron 9400 3 months ago from Dell:
Intel Centrino 2 dual core 2.0 Ghz processor
    1 GB 667mhz RAM
Ati Radeon Mobility X1400 hypermemory 256 mb (128 mb is shared with system memory)

When i play a game like MTW 2 the graphics card uses up 128 mb of system memory, bring that down to 872 mb temporarily. This is too low for smooth framerates
So now, only 3 months later...i am going to buy two 1 GB sticks of 667 mhz RAM to install dual channel for roughly $350 Canadian after tax.
Hopefully i can sell the two 512 sticks of ram that i gotta take out!

Well I'd already spent $500 on upgrading for Oblivion a few months ago so nothing. Might get another gig of RAM so I can have 2GB though.

I was willing to spend around $700 to get a completely new computer but SSE is compatible and the Gold demo runs awesome on my system so I'll stick with this and get an upgrade later.

I moved out of home, so now i have no computer (the comp i had at home was the "family" computer )
so, in my new place, i decided i wasn't going to get a new comp. until i heard about M2TW. >
i'm buying a new comp for about 2000 AUD. but i cant say this is totally for M2TW, but that game was my inspiration!

Hi there, new to the forums, first post.

    On Topic:
I havent spend a penny as of yet although my 7 year old PC is well past it's usefulness so I will be planning on spending £798 Stirling on a new one.

    Got a Duel Core 2 e6600
    Geforce 7900GS
    1 gig ddr2 RAM

Hope that will work, although if I am unlucky I wont get the money for another 3 months
So if I dont get it for that time I might get better value for my money. But if I can I will be getting the above ( It is a whole PC incase anyone was wondering ) and will add another gig of RAM asap.

First post over and out of the way.
Hope to see you more around the forums.

Aw, think you could have gone for a 7600GT for that much $$. As for your 2800+, what's keeping you from overclocking? You're probably good for at least 2.2GHz.

..and now this is sounding like a basement thread.

Yeah I've had it at 2.2 but it overheats pretty quick .Actualy if I set the multiplyer any higher than around 220 x 9 it gets unstable.

Haven't spent anything yet. I will upgrade and buy a new computer in preparation for Uni when I have the money and when the new hardware/software is cheaper and more stable.
