    Default Mod diff. in RTW/BI

    First off, freaking awesome. <<<S!>>>

    Now the question:

    Are there any differences in the way the mod plays on RTW and BI?

    for instance, BI has sheild wall, schiltrom, and religon. so if i play with BI 1.6 will these features be implemented?

    is playing on RTW 1.5 more stable than playing on BI 1.6? i say this because it seems that it's written as "this mod is for RTW 1.5 but also plays on BI 1.6" this leads me to believe that it was made originally for RTW not BI

    plz clarify this for me plz

    i recommend playing with the regular rome total war exe instead of the BI-exe. the bi exe has huge economical AI problems!!

    ...that's 100% new to me.
    Do you have any evidence for this statement? Please show us your experience about this exactly, as i'm finding this very interesting ...

    This would mean btw., that the bi-exe, AI-related would have economical problems in every case, just in bi itself and in every bi-mod, and not only with ChivTW.

    In Chiv aren't any special bi-references or codes included, except that just some files are available for the bi-exe indication, but which have exactly the same content as the one for RTW-exe. So ... jaklei? Please enlighten us.

    For the above question:
    ChivTW is generally built as RTW 1.5 mod, and it is recommended to play with the RTW-exe, as everything is also tested on this way, so we can't principle give senseful support if somebody plays Chiv with the bi-exe.
    But, it doesn't matter if you have installed BI 1.6, as RTW 1.5 is then included, and you have still the option to play the BI game or the RTW game, naturally both must be unmodified.

    @HrtBrk1

    Those formation values aren't present in the ChivTW export_descr_units, so the formation abilities you mentioned are not available under the BI exe. One could, I suppose, manually enter them and see if they worked. I haven't noticed any stability advantage of RTW over BI. One of the first things I do when testing a CTD condition is revert from the BI exe to the RTW exe. Haven't found any CTDs using BI that didn't also occur with RTW.

    Edit: I should also state that CTDs are very few and far between.

    @jaklei

    Having used both the RTW exe and the BI exe during the course of beta testing, I can only say that I have not seen any noticable difference in the economics of one versus the other. If you've got evidence of this, please share. Wouldn't be the first time someone saw something I didn't see.

    tx for the input yous guys.

    I am currently kicking @$$ and taking names in the campaign.

    But i've noticed some problems, i know this is only v.50 so i know problems are inevitable.

    Here is what i've noticed thus far:

    1.) the menu is messed up, the menu where you select the campaign, custom battles, etc. you know the one. the problem is that there is no text for the options, for instance the campaign, historical battles, and one other are only shown as a " . " surely this is a problem easily fixed

    2.) The Armenian-Celician factions general's spears are invisable (except for the tips) when you are zoomed in, they're fine when zoomed out though

    3.) towers don't fire ANY arrows whatsoever, towers that fire arrows (and later ballistae) are very useful in defense, and i do rely on them when i have a lack of missle troops

    4.) this isn't rly a problem, seeing as how it is just v.50, but it would be rly nice to have the image of the specific troop in the unit description, instead of that pathetic peasant

    5.) Not all of the cities are recognized by the RomeShell

    6.) also, i got a CTD when i tried to look at the description of a certain, i believe it was a certain Byzantine unit, not sure which one, i'll find out

    this is all i have found so far, i've only played for about a day now

    i've been havin' trouble deciding who to use, i tried the English thought about the French, and i think i'll go with the Holy Roman Empire for now

    <S> and tx

    First, we have pinned topics for any kind of bugs, second if you would have read the Readme and/or the FAQ, you would be aware that some of the points are known and/or intended (ie. the disabled menu points). Third, some are long known bugs, listed in the bug-topics. Fourth, if you see a settlement not having the same name in the Rome-Shell, then it is due to the fact, that the settlement-name is changed in the text file of the regions/settlement file in the text folder. But, in fact, if you have seen settlements, that have absolutely no occurence in the Rome-Shell, then please list them in the pinned bug-report topic above as soon as possible, that would be very appreciated ... same goes for your unit-ctd.

    EDIT: I'll let this topic open due to jaklei's comment, which has actually to do with the topic-title, and it would be interesting to get here new knowledge about RTW and BI exe.
    But this is not a bug or feedback or whatever of that kind topic, and I'll delete further off-topic posts (see my hints above).
