Cavalry skirmishers - How to?

Hi. I want to play some of the eastern world factions because it feels fun with all the stir around Holy Land and Mongols appearing, but sadly most(if not all) of the factions out there make use of cavalry skirmishers who use javelins or bows. That's a problem, because I'm not able to make correct use of it and I can't think about any tactics.. I am that kind of guy who hates the archers when they are in the enemy army, so I basically use heavy cavalry to scare them off, and after they run away, my infantry crushes with their infantry. Then I just make use of the charges continuously. (France much) Foot archers are just to shoot and have contest with enemy skirmishers :E I can't find a way to utilize the horse skirmishers - I'm not sure if I should even use the "circle & shoot" skill, cause it seems pretty bad to me - I'm trying to take off enemy light infantry with it, but then I get gibbed by enemy cav and mounted skirmishers perish without doing much casualties. So TWC, what's the way to use them?

They are the best for me.
just put your infantry far away from the enemy, and go around the enemy with the cavalry, attack the flanks and other troops you'd like to decimate, so they will break formations. they will try to chase your cavalry to stop the fire, but they will get tired, when they arrive on your infantry line, they will be so tired that they will be broken.
I win all battles like this.
Also use the terrain.

Anyways, how do you counter? Just wondering. Also, do you play any multiplayer or you just go singleplayer?

just single. To counter that, you'd need fast as light cavalry, which doesnt works so well either. so i'd say, just rush to the infantry line/general and try to ignore the cavalry archers if you can.
i cant think of how to counter myself, other than sheer numbers and quality troops.

Horse archers, in this game and most others, are overpowered and much more effective than they actually were IRL so you should not have any problems exploiting the AI whilst using them.
