    Icon11 Small mod idea

A new style of recruiting called 2 turn recruitment that I am almost done, intended to make the game both more accurate in some regards but also bringing in the more numerous battles for people like myself who enjoy mods like Roma Surrectum for Rome Total War and the many battles you get to fight. Most units take 2 turns to replenish, but I was thinking that late game units for the Elves and Gondorians, Dwarves, Arnorians, etc take 3 turns to replenish (with a few exceptions for various units that are late game "elites". Some longer to replenish and some only take two turns). Trolls will take 4 turns, catapults and ballistae will take that long to replenish, and it will take 5 turns to replenish a trebuchet. Please let me know what you think of this idea (I am already done a considerable bit) but was wondering if this might make some factions overpowered (I am making units like Mordor Uruks, Elf elite cavalry etc rare to make the game more accurate to the lore). In addition, I will make some changes to the unit stats (Mainly unit sizes) and building times to make the games more fast paced. So, just say what you think should be changed. I expect I will have this done within the next couple of weeks hopefully. In the first of second week of November probably. If people are interested, I could implement similar ideas in other mods like SS.

Lots of love to all the total war(ers) out there

EDIT-If you think a faction is getting steamrolled as it is, and think I should compensate that faction for giving it longer recruitment times, feel free to mention that.

First you probably should post this in the sub mod threat. Ngugi will most likely do that very soon.

Secondly are you talking about replenishment rates, the amount of turns it takes before a second unit can be recruited?
Or are you talking about the recruitment time of the units? Or both?

Anyhow keep in mind that changing the recruitment time is pointless unless you also change the economy so it can support all those extra units early in game.
Additionally there are some barrack events that should take place earlier if you want a fast paced game, I assume you would want to play with the elite unit instead of winning the game with militia?

Replenishment rate, like I said in the beginning of my initial post
I agree about the economy part. I'll change the output of economic buildings and possibly increase the kings purse too. Anything but siege engines and trolls will take a turn to recruit . I am mostly just wondering if people are interested in this idea mostly, but I will undoubtedly make it for myself in nobody thinks this is a good idea

Have y ever played Gondor in MOS ? There y get to fight many battles with various units and i think the replenish rate is high enough, somehow to high for me, so that i have slowed it down to force me to fight with all available troops like militia units. You want to do the opposite and i wonder why ? While playing MOS there are enough battles i think, especially in late game ( around 100) without bashing your enemy , there are a lot of stacks on the map. Often y have to fight (as Gondor) 2-3 stacks per turn to hold your position, if Rohan fails Isengard could join. Or d y want to have yourself more stacks of elite units ? I only play "good" factions and in all of my campaigns my unit spam wasn't limited by my replensih rate, the economy is cut down so hard that it is challanging ( what is good) to have many stacks. So the only thing which are needed for human players are more money .
If y still want to lower it, i can give y a tip how to change the file in under a hour to shorten only the replenish rate ( not the amount of turns to train a unit, my system only works for the rate).

I already shortened everything...this mod is almost done. I just have to change specific factions. And like I said...This is supposed to feel like RSII one turn...and this is for vanilla...not MOS. The factions I have played as before are the Dwarves, Orcs of Gundabad, Rhun, Isengard in Dac, and Rohan. But seriously. It bothers me that it can take close to a year to arm a simple unit of say Rhunnic lamellar wearing early slightly-better-than-militia units.
