Hello. I've been having a problem, and I was hoping that I could get it figured out with your input.
I've been playing an early era campaign as Genoa, settling only on Rhodes and Crete. I played through the campaign all the way to the year 1354, when I encountered a roadblock.
I clicked end turn in the previous turn, and the game cycled successfully through all the AI turns, rebels included. Then, I got that start of turn tune and about half a second after that, the game encountered an unspecific error.
I am aware that there is a Teutonic glitch which produces a similar CTD, but this is different, as it happened at the start of my turn.
Trying to load the save results in an immediate unspecified error just as the loading sword finishes.
At the moment, the only thing I could think of that could cause this would be some kind of save corruption. I know the game saves right as you begin your turn and as far as I know, this is the only option that would make sense.
It wouldn't matter to me that much, other than the fact that I am writing an AAR based on this save. Unfortunately, my last save is 50 years prior to this crash, and that would mean a significant chunk of the AAR gets thrown out of the window. That's acceptable- but I need to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Do any of you know what causes this kind of crash and what to do about it?
