    Hi everyone!
Let's take a look at Islamic invaders

Very big thanks for invitation at this mod, I hope I'll be useful
Work with Umayyads was (and still is) very challenging and interesting for me.

First I want to show you are some workflows pictures I made during process. I want to say thanks to all those great guys (see credits), without them I'd maybe never made this pack

So, let's start (what you see is not all stuff I've made, but main part of this):

    *
Notice all of these are not so fancy in the game, it's just my VariantsEditor settings

    ARMOUR, MAIL and TUNICS

    HELMETS, TURBANS etc.

    OVAL, ROUND and ELBOW SHIELDS

*They are actually less saturated and more dusty, scratchy at the time

I've god just one headache - long Arabic tunics. I've made some models, looks nice at static, but they look ugly when animated. Leg part stretching like hell and this is not what I want to get, I'll try to do something with this later.

20 NEW UNITS. From all wide Umayyad Empire (some screens has post-processing, so they looks maybe more fancier then they are in the game):

    BERBERS
    Berber Tribesmen

    Berber Archers

    Berber Axemen

    Berber Spearmen

    Berber Camel Riders

    Berber Horse Archers

    Berber Lancers

    Berber Scout Riders

    BEDOUIN SWORDSMEN

    IBERIAN CAVALRY

    KURDISH JAVELINMEN

    ARABS

    Arab Archers

    Arab Spearmen

    Arab Swordsmen

    Arab Guardsmen

    Arab Cavalry Guard

    PERSIAN and TURKS

    Turk Raiders

    Turk Lancers

    Persian Asawira

    Persian Cataphracts

    I hope you'll like it

    Regards!

    Credits:
Ahiga for some CRoC stuff and learning about file organization
Kuauik for beautiful Persian helmet model
All those great guys from OSP: Al_Mansur, Naif, Pino, Lucas, Fred, Njunja (sorry if I forgot someone)
    Warman for his tutorial

    Awesome work to everyone involved
Thanks for the amazing looking models.

We also got some of our own eastern models in the works, such as long tunics, headwear etc. We'll combine them properly

What specifically are your plans with regards towards the long tunics, will it just be a simple long robe going down to the feet, or will longer armor models be involved as well?

Also, what is your policy towards sharing models? AoB could possibly use some of these, we would make them ourselves but our modelers are swamped.

    Great work!!!!!!!!!
There are moments (in history), in which a nation owes,
if it wants to be considered as a great one, to be able to fight.
Even without hope of winning. Just because it has to.
    Greek War motto.
XXI Armored Brigade. Proud that served in that unit in 1996!
"Spartans do not ask how many (enemies are) but where they are"!
    XXI Armored Brigade's motto.
The Greek Secret (or why they will fight again if it will be necessary or why they do not sell their history).

    Thanks to all!

    Some news, mates.
    It's about long tunics.
Based on Fred's OPS models long tunic with armour. I made some remodeling, rigging.

    SEE

Next I'll work with textures. Will make some variants

Looks great, seems you have gotten farther then I thought.
Just a question how is Umayyad requitment going to wor since they got so many units from areas of the map. Are you able to recruit your unit with enough culture?

I think we should regulate Umayyads army with unit caps. It will be fair if only Iberians and Berbers (lower tier as you can see) will not have an army cap limit.

I can't speak for the models from Avetis (and everyone else worked on them) but all HaG models will be made accessible for other modders if credit is given on the mod page.
As for the long tunics we're making, they'll be both simple ropes and longer armor models.

Btw, Avetis, are those long tunics from Warman's Rome II Medieval mod? If so, I made them. So if you want some additional variants, I can give you the source model files.

It's from Fred's "Bench of armour" OPS. I don't know if these tunics are in Warman's mod.

Also, all my models will be accessible for other. It's fair

    I think it's misunderstanding
Yes, I did Armenia overhaul for CRoC, but Umayyad faction is for Hammer of Gaul mod

If you want, I can give you the .pack file with Umayyad units, you'll can lead them to custom battle as Lusitani

    Horses really need more variety.

Today I made some new full-horse textures, half-armour will be ready tomorrow:
