I was wondering this while doing my SPQR and passing a hell of a time holding of Makedonia while my provinces in Greece where constantly revolting and the thing is (And sorry if it as already been asked or answered...)

Why not use the papal states election system from M2TW for elections of roman offices? I mean...Wouldnt that save a who knows how long trip from whatever place in the world to rome just to get a trait and making things easier by having them take the offices from whatever place in the world they are? Or would that be imposible because it uses the M2TWK system? Or perhaps is because of historical matters and that it was not done that way in the roman republic?
