Will it be better than RTW strategy giude? There it was a beefed up manual with a unit guide and that was about it.....a waste of money. Hope this one is better.
yea i think i may get it, but it may make me go insane by reading it since it comes out a week early.
Usually those guides come out before the final build of the game and there are some inaccuarcies in the manual just like in RTW. Do not count on anything in the manual. To me, they will always be a waste of money.

If it has a lot of cool art, then I'll buy it. All the strategies, tactics, and tips are completely worthless to me because when I need some, I'll find it here at TWC.
Do you really need to pre-order this? They're usually crap.
I will wait and go to Wal-Mart, and read it until someone in a blue vest tells me to leave.

You need a proper old fashioned reading.
Sun Tzu - The art of war
Nicollo Machiavelli - The Prince
Look these two up in Wikipedia, there should be links to the full books. They've been written quite long ago (The art of war is from somewhere like 3rd century BC) so the linceses have long expired

Carl von Clausewitz - On War (vom Kreige)
About this one, I'm not so certain but it's not that important, if you have The art of war.
Get through these and you're set for any strategy game, as well as for many real countries, haha
I started writing a relatively thorough FAQ just today. I don't like the idea of paying for a strategy guide. I don't promise I'll finish it thoughIf I decide to drop the idea, I'll offer the unfinished work to anyone who wants to continue it.

You should really save your money. I bought the Strategy Guide and its full of basic knowledge which is already explained in the instruction manual. Then about 70% of this guide is just unit stats for each faction. Many of which are wrong. Some units in the guide were even omitted from the final version of the game. It's honestly a waste of $20.
