At twenty-one, Gnaeus is the youngest surviving member of the family Tranquilli; one of Romes oldest and most influential families. An old family, however, is not one without enemies, as Gnaeus found out the hard way four years previous when a devastating fire ripped through his family home, taking all dearest too him; his father Gaius, mother Claudia and sister Aurelia. Gnaeus always suspected foul play, placing the blame on the shoulders of his fathers political opponents. Yet who would believe the words of a sixteen year old, tormented by grief?
Almost four years later Gnaeus has returned to Rome, with the remnants of his family inheritance lining his pockets; he is more than ready to secure the revenge he deserves and if, at the same time, he can secure his families political standing in Rome bringing the Tranquilli to power once more, then whose to stop him?
Gnaeus Claudius Tranquillus - Family Head - Twenty-one
Tiberius shakes hands with senator Gnaeus as a sign of respect.
Hello senator
Tiberius walked along with the sentaror in the gardens
I've noticed your wise words in the senate and i approve of them. And i agree with you that there are already to much plebs in the high positions. I as patrician feel we patricians should unite to counter their growing influence...... what do you say about the republican faction?
Tiberius looked towards the senator
It's a faction that unites patricians but i'm not quite sure about Silanus, he's a bit arrogant and i do not approve of his nomination of Maximus julius Libo which is just laughable...
"Silanus is a thoroughbred, Senator, raised from one of Rome's finest and oldest families, his arrogance is merely a mark of his position, yet I do not doubt his motives are true. Tensions are rising in the Senate and I fear rash words and rash actions might lead to consequences that will ripple through this great city of ours..."
He took a seat on the veranda where a servant had placed wine, and indicated to Tiberius to sit,
"I believe the Republican faction is destined to become unloved and short lived, its rising unpopularity in the Senate merely an indicator of the trouble it is already causing. I take you for a rational man Senator, perhaps the Republican faction can be a... diversion, while those of us with forethought and sense plan silently?"
He sat back on the cushions as a plan formulated in his mind,
"This trade mission, in the Senate... if we were both to travel, then maybe we could formulate a more suitable course of action, away from the prying eyes of the Senate and Rome, we could garner support in the cities we visit whilst strengthening our cause?"
Tiberius sat on his chair and continued the conversation
I do not doubt Silanus noble line and his ancestors but i'm not sure of the choices he makes, still however i think patricians should be united but i'm not sure Silanus is the man for that job and though i'm not a plebeian vassal of any sort i'm not sure about his views.
Tiberius noted Gnaeus words about the trade mission.
I would not oppose to travel both to Syrakousai, it could be interesting for sure while serving the Roman republic the best we can.
You must know that my loyalty is only to Rome and not to Silanus, remember that senator..........
"I am with you on that Senator... Silanus is a radical, and radicalism is damaging to both the causes it opposes and the causes it fights for."
A serious tone crept into his voice,
"I know Senator... if , even for the briefest moment, doubt crossed my mind as to where your allegiances lie; we would not be having this conversation... I have great respect for those loyal to this city and to those that do.... I offer my own allegiances."
"Whatever allegiances you may ask of me Senator, perhaps sealed through a bond of matrimony between our two houses, I am unmarried as I'm sure you're aware and a political alliance between us might prove... beneficial"
Gnaeus' proposal was the easiest way he knew of to ensure the Senator would be able to trust him, a bond of marriage was not a light undertaking...

It's all in your eyes.
