He carved open the pig's belly with swift strikes, tearing through the skin as if it were wheat. Blood sprayed across his face and arms, making him appear like a murderer from the alleyways.

They chanted as he pulled out the organs, Sextus and Calpurnia and Gnaeus and the dozen others who had come to join the ritual. Each asked for the blessing of the Goddess Diana, for her divine spirit to gift the people present.

Gnaeus smiled as he worked, whispering the prayers he had mouthed a hundred times before. He prayed for the people of Rome, for the Senate and the farmers and the blacksmiths. He humbly begged for the blessing of the Lady of the Hunt for the years to come.

Each man there was accompanied by a woman, some bearing the tell-tale signs of pregnancy already. Calpurnia had yet to become visible, but the two of them believed that she was with child. She had to be.

"Please grace us with your presence, and see to it that a child is brought forth in to this world. Please bless us with a birth that is without harm or difficulty. I gift you with this pig, in the hope that it pleases you, and grants me with another child. I humbly ask that each woman here will become mothers, with your guiding arm as support."

Tiberius accompanied with his wife Caecilia deceided to visit the temple of Diana before they would depart on mission. Both carried oaks with them to honour Diana, goddess of fertility,hunt and the moon. Both Dominus Tiberius and Domina Caecilia asked for the blessings of the Goddess for her divine powers she wield.

Tiberius prayed before her statue as sign of respect and goodwill. He prayed for his wife's fertility as she's considered infertile which is frown upon alot. Tiberius in his fairness asked for the blessings of Diana for the years to come.

Great goddess of fertility and children, please embrace our gifts to you goddess and bless us with a child of yours. I offer you these gifts in the hope it will please you and brings forth a child. Great goddess i pray for you and all women in Rome that they may be blessed by you.
