I think it means Conqueror in spanish. They're cavalry if I'm not mistaken.

Spartacus is correct about cavalry. In addition, it's good to have some cavalry avaible to chase and kill routers. Wouldn't want them to survive to fight another day.

"Conquistador" is the spanish word for Conqueror.

They're a unit the Spanish have at the Battle of Otumba in the 2nd demo. They fought in the conquest of the new world. Someone more knowledgable on them will have to tell you more.
