Unit size change

Not too long ago, my computer could handle a max of 6400 soldiers but for some reason it dipped down to about 2100.. I got a newer computer but the issue is still there. What settings affect the amount of soldiers you can handle at once

I dont know how to set max amount of soldiers on battlefield, but it depends on unit scale in main menu options. However it affects only games started after u modify this.
