Default 600 hundred year to early - Sarmatians in Spain

The Sarmatians decided to move ahead of time before their descended in Spain. Other highlights are the Saka in southern Mesopotamia, the Aedui Italy (it used to be split between Epirus and them before I attacked Epirus), the Arverni Ankyra, Carthage's African Empire, the Arabian Indians and the useless Pritanoi

Wow that's a weird map. Ptolemei are basically gone too. There are a lot of destroyed factions. Only 300 turns? That's surprising. What version CAI?

It's the default one in EB 2.01. Epirus, Makedonia and Pontos were destroyed by me. Baktria, Rome, Pergamon, KH and Aurekoi were destroyed by the AI. Except Baktria the others are usually destroyed in almost all my games.

Yep, "civilized" factions, especially hellenic ones suffer the lack of settlements in their area and cannot develop much. On the other hand, "barbaric" ones can build a strong power base providing what i find to be the illogical settlement distribution on the map. It is really frustrating and kind of ruins the game for me. I hope it will be balanced in the future releases with settlements added in areas were the high population density actually was.

I have to agree. In every game I've played, one of the Germanic factions (usually the Lugiones, but occasionally Sweboz) becomes the dominant power in Europe very early on. Largely because they have too many provinces at their disposal. In what is now Germany and Poland, there are 10 provinces, and two in Scandinavia, which is far too many IMO.

Same goes with Gauls, 15 on the left bank of the Rhine and also Britain and it's 8 provinces. Syria and Greece are unsignificant in comparison. Important players such as Macedon and later Pergamon almost always disappear very fast.
Also some strange choices in Egypt: why Ibis and Ptolemais-Theron? The first was more of a pioneer front and the second more of a trade post; Hermopolis, and Ptolemais Hermiou (on the Nile) for example would have been more accurate. In general, we have psf where important cities were ignored and plenty of settlements in areas with no cities at all and/or with a rather low population at that time. I really do not understand. 10 cities should be added in these areas and as many removed from the "barbaric" factions.
