Can you give me a definate performance?

Ok, I've asked around for weeks and I've had, "It will work great!" or "Booo! Rubbish performance!"

I want a definate answer. Please...

I have a Geforce 7600 GS 256MB
512 MB RAM upgrading to 1024MB RAM soon
3.06Ghz Intel Pentium Processer H-T (Is this good?)

I just want a good, reliable answer. Going to disable shadows and possibly reflections. I just want to play on high settings!

But my uncles GeForce 6600 plays it on medium easy! Why can't my 7600?

Well, what resolution does he have it on? What AA? What kind of 6600, is it a GT? Also, what kind of CPU does he have? RAM?

You could turn some settings high, My system is pretty same level I quess. I'm using high textures and unit detail, high grass, bloom, reflections, 2XAA. Other setting are pretty much medium. So medium-high with 3,000-4,000 men works fine..

Cool. Reflections and shadows don't bother me so they get turned off. The GS is a much cheaper option and I'm on a tight budget so I need cheap things.

The GS should be fine. Disable shadows, reflections, bloom, low building and vegetation detail. With those on low, you should be able to manage high unit detail/textures/effects. Without the additional 512MB ram you might be in trouble though...

You should be able to run the game quite well with medium settings, that RAM upgrade you're planning will make quite a difference too.

Since you don't care much about bloom effects, reflections or shadows and will probably turn these off, I'm pretty sure your current system will allow you to enjoy a decent level of unit + building detail without lagging.

If you dont up the ram you will be lucky to make medium settings.

if you up your ram to a Gig you'll have a settup only marginally worse off than mine, and i can play the demo on max settings. not sure how worse off a 7600 plays compared to a 7950GT but if you're turning off shadows and reflections, i'd be feeling pretty confident

Actually, I think a 7950GT is more than twice as good as a 7600 . . .
