    It's been superceded now, though I need the new cavalry formations to be able to finalise an official release which will have these and other changes for people to try.

    Another quick update, I'm about 40% of the way through updating the test-EDU with all the new stats from the current version in the trunk (including tighter formations for all cavalry), after which I'll apply my new cavalry speed formula (won't take long to do), then open a new thread for it to be tested by everyone. Hopefully in the next few days, assuming I get some clear periods to spend with it.

    SO I installed your fix and it now causes the game to crash every time I have a battle as the Bosphporan kingdom. I dont know if it is for sure this, but the game was working fine before I installed this so its the only thing I can think of.

    Since 2.01, I've not found it savegame compatible, but in that instance the save won't even load. The fact that it does load, but won't load battles is something else, I suspect. If you restore the original EDU, does it still crash on battles?

    Im not trying to play a saved game. I start a new campaign, and the battles crash. The first time for no reason it just said I lost abruptly, and then the second time when I tried the battle again, it crashed.

    Again, restore the EDU you were using before and see if it still crashes.

    EDIT: Well this is just irritating. I did a fresh reinstall and remapped my camera direction keys to WASD and now when I attack Skythiapolis as the Bosphorans, the game just auto ends the battle as a close defeat with no casualties. Its annoying as hell.

    That sounds like something more fundamental, assuming you're using the original EDU again.

    Im using a clean steam and eb2 install, weird. The game worked as the Sabeans but not as the Bosphorans.

    I've almost finished the great EDU update (some final amendments and cavalry speed updates to do), it'll be ready to issue soon, once I've assured that it actually works without causing a CTD!

    I've finished the EDU update, but get an "unspecified error" when trying to run the game - which disappears when I revert to the previous EDU.

    Log says:

    11:28:29.103 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/EBII/data/export_descr_unit.txt, at line 519, column 1
    Missing attributes field for unit type 'celtic infantry gaeroas'.
    11:28:29.104 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

    Lines 519 is:
    officer Argoi_Early

    Anyone have any ideas what's going on? I can send you my current EDU if it will help you diagnose.

    Are you completely sure that's the line? You aren't suppose to count commented lines, can't remember if EDU can have or does have commented lines.

    so have you accidently deleted/edited 3 lines?

    He probably included a new unit or something. Dunno. What is needed it to leave out the commented lines from the counting and then you'll have the faulty line. Most probably he's using the goto line from notepad which would count commented lines as well.

    Don't know which would be the fastest way to delete the commented lines on a copy but probably excel would help a lot.If you are willing to pm me the file I would work it out in a few moments.

    For clarity, this is a heavily edited 2.01 EDU, not the original. I've been using Notepad++ and deleting a lot of commented out lines for primary javelins. There's a big commented section at the start of almost 100 lines, so if it's ignoring those it wouldn't even land on that unit at line 519.

    I can't test the EDU because there is no new descr_projectiles. txt.
    (I'm guessing you've made new entries for the javelin50 ranges????)

    Sorry, I didn't attach the new descr_projectiles.txt (but there is one).

    mount_effect is supposed to be above attributes, not sure how it interacts with officer - should it be underneath? Am I breaking up the reading it does to build the unit (looking at soldier, then officer) by having it in between? If that's all that needs fixing to make it work, awesome, I'll get on it.

    EDIT: It works! Voice of Treason, you're a lifesaver, that's four weeks of work recovered when I thought I'd have to start afresh. Thank you.
