No HRE is still there but only have one province left.

Venice set her rule over eastern mediterrenean. Scotland erase the England from history and Milanese conquer the France. I've just said wow. Interesting page of an alternate history.

By the looks of things though, that campaign is 180 odd turns old. Also, the red faction around the Byantinium starting position / turkey, which faction is that?

hmmm noticing one thing that I don't like that much, which is that all the knights look the same for all the factions except for a color palette swap.

Ah yes, just above the grey faction, which I assume is just rebels. If you look above that black band though, you'll see a grey line where a unit has moved through. Seems as though it may just be the map is darker there for some reason.

Actually, those look more like the units that are in that screenshot of the 'Mongols invade!' event. I bet those will be re-modelled quite fast

I don't think so, I'm not bothered though, infact I quite like them like that but it hurts to be reminded of Mel Gibson, you know, the drunk fool on the brink of suicide.

I especially like THIS shot. Very atmospheric, which is one of things that seriously lacked in RTW's battles (not STW's or MTW's).
