Icon3 Re: Caesar's Legions Named and Numbered for EE DEI

Based on what I could find here (Wikipedia) & here (Livius.org) the emblem on Legio XVII, XVIII, & XIX banners will be Capricorn. That is also what was mostly used by Octavius when he levied new legions. As for their recruitment: All 3 will be recruitable in Belgica, Germanica Minor, & Raetia. All along the Rhine and proximal to Germania provinces where they were last stationed. They'll also all 3 be recruitable in Sicily/Southern Italy (Grand Campaign) & Sicily (Imperator Augustus) as this is where where they were first sent before the Battle of Actium to deal with Sextus Pompey. They'll also be recruitable in Aquatania as all 3 were stationed here a considerable time after the 2nd Civil War ended before being transferred proximal to the Germanic provinces. Legio XVII/XVIII will be recruitable in Cisalpania as this is where their recruits were levied from along with veterans from other legions. Legio XIX will be recruitable in central Italy (GC) Latium (IA) as this is where they levied recruits from (Etruria - which is in the 2 aformentioned regions) along with veterans from other legions.

    *****UPDATE*****
Just so everyone is in the loop for progress, all I have left to do is the Imperator Augustus startpos. Before I do that I'm going tyo finish the unit cards first. I'll be using Kaziel's Romans v4.5 UI cards and adding numerals to each individual unit card t distinguish them from each other. After I have finished the shields I'll be able to further customize the unit cards. All the placeholders are working correctly, both Marian and Imperial. Once these things are finished, I'll have to edit the unit stats and etc. to match current DEI stats. Once that's complete I'll upload the BETA.

Are these BullGod style, DeI style, or vanilla style? I'm currently working on a full set of BullGod style icons for DeI, and I want to make sure that I don't overlap your work if you're already making them.

It'll be vanilla to begin with. UMCenturion is working on DEI/Rome I style cards. If you want to do Bullgod if appreciate it but the shield aren't finished so might abs wait first

I've finished all the dB tables except for th main_units dB for the XIIICaesar's Legions of Rome BETA. After that I'll just need to add the AOR tags into DeI startpos. I'll test it out, make sure all works, and get it uploaded. Maybe tomorrow night after work. More than likely though thursday or friday at the latest night after work.

I checked the unit abilities. Sheild wall is missing. Its noted and on my to do list for the next update. I also noticed I had the technology requirement table still in the pack technologies; I removed that table as the scripts make that null and void. As for the scripts I could also recruit the Cohors Vigilum and Marian Volunteer Legionnaires. I have been workin for 6 hours now and haven't got the scripts working yet. I even took the ones that worked correctly in old Caesars Legions and pasted the new legion names over and it still worked incorrectly. I've messaged Litharion to ask him to take a look. I am working on it people, very sorry. It is a BETA for a reason though. I appreciate yuou r patience and feedback.

    ***UPDATE***
I've managed to get the 2 units from appearing at the start of a Grand Campaign but the Marian legions still appear from the beginning.

    *****ANOTHER UPDATE*****
I've also got the units Imperial/Marian appearing as they should. No longer appearing during the start of a campaign but after each reform as they should be. Will upload the update later this week as soon as I've fixed the unit abilities (shield wall) and the faction ownership for custom battle (Imperial units to ea. individual faction)

Another update containing new standard banners and standard pelts will be coming later this week. Been busy with work and stuff. Sorry for delay folks. It'll be save-game compatible. I will also get the XIIICzr's LoR compatible version of Litharion's Marian era start for IA submod done this week as well.

I've got a few of the Imperial shields, some custom banners, and some helmet crests for Marian/Caesarean units --- I'm adding horsehair into them for historical variety. Also, I've added bear and wolf pelts for standard bearers and lion pelts for first cohort standard bearer.

    Any news about the update?

So does this work with DeI right now?

If yes, then the legions I have available are using the unit cards of vanilla and not DeI. I just got into the Marian era and have level 2 cohort barracks in Rome. Is it possible to get the DeI style unit card legions?

Does this mod change the appearance of Legionnaires aswell? for example do the Germania legion/legions have long sleeves and pants to protect from the cold winter?

I tried to research Renumeration Reforms, Cohort Organization, Professional Soldiery but still this mod dont work, i cant recruit them in campaign map. Im using Grand Campaign, Emperor Edition Rome 2 v.2.0. How can you recruit them? i can see them in Custom battle but in campaign i cant.. descriptions on the Renumeration Reforms, Cohort Organization, Professional Soldiery research dont show up and after researching them nothing happens. Is this the cause of editing the startpos.esf file? i did edit the starting treasury in startpos. file and also the Year per turns. can anyone help?

He would have to edit some primary DeI tables to remove those units and it would make keeping this updated a rather large pain in the rear.

In my opinion the vanilla style icons in the future to alter under a strict and close to the Roman antiquity with colored items, such strict style is more appropriate concept modification DeI unlike the animated children from Bullgod.

Those look bad @$$ dude but I attempted something similar to that few months back for all the vanilla unit cards but the project was overwhelming so I never completed it & lost all drive to finish. I actually prefer those over bullgod for the historical immersion but just don't have the time to do all the cards nor know how to do the shield textures that good

True, very true. It was just a thought. If you don't have the time I understand. Myself in keeping this going in vanilla, dei, & Radious forums. I work full time job, sell comics, dvds, & build /repair custom pcs too in addition to my job . Trust me I understand lol time is a valuable thing very valuable lol. If nothing else I'll just add back in the bullgod style cards it came with

I think the same...i hate bulldog children style..if you ask for help..maybe to Kaziel? Thanks for your work! =)

and by the way, if this sub-mod was made for DEI, and DEI version have vanilla style unit card, i don“t think bulldog style could be a good idea, breaks the stetic of the game himself...please, think about it! there“s actually a mod to put bulldog style to numbered legions, leave this clean, or made an apropiate style! =)
