    Default Execute Crash

Is there any way to avoid getting crash when executing more than one stack of enemy army? Aside from setting them free. This is stupid, autoresolve keep annihilating my army when I can get clear victory rather easily. Letting 400+ enemy go every fight will come back to bite me in the ass later.

I've only ever had this happen once, and only when beating multiple armies when taking a settlement.

If you've proven to yourself that you can win the battle, you can just cheat to get around it, still win, and avoid the crash.
    "auto_win attacker" if you're attacking
    "auto_win defender" when you're not

Hit the tilde key on your keyboard. It should be in the top left corner. ` or ~ are on it.
That opens up the console for commands. Type them in exactly as that without the quotations, no caps, just how I wrote them. Then hit enter and use ` to close the console again.

It's a bug that's been around for a long time, no one has any clue what causes it even after all this time. Based on crash logs I have a theory it's sound related, but the logs are not specific enough.

I knew the ridiculously drawn out execution sound effect was too good to be true!

I thought it was (somehow) something to do with the two army-giants falling over, since that's when it crashes. I've had situations where it didn't crash though, when I executed 2 armies that only had a couple of units each in, which makes me think it's something to do with the number of units.

It's a bit frustrating that you're not able to do more with prisoners, or keep them around for a while. Like, realistically, you'd be able to force an enemy to agree to a ceasefire or peace deal if you captured their king, or have more sway in diplomacy when you have thousands of their men in your dungeons. I don't want to instantly have to decide whether to release, ransom, or kill them all.

For these 2 things. You can script them in to the game.
Like add a pop-up widow that asks you what you want to do with the defeated General. Even if he was killed in battle, you could say you released him. And he would spawn back on the map.
Also maybe it is possible to change the Pop-up Ransom/release/execute window. To add enslave them(gain more rupee with relic income or a new income called slavery income) Or even add the option to "deside later". Adding a new window to the game called managing prisoners.

Edit: But with this idea. I would also like to add the option of rescuing General with spies and such. Or Trading prisoners with your enemy. Whether it's their King for your army. Or Just troops for troops.

You could even have it that you loss a portion of the new Income type(slavery Income). When you loss a settlement to an enemy.

There are far too many things that this is an answer to

What about having the captured prisoners assigned to your nearest settlement, and the enemy can release them if they take it?
It might make more sense for that to be the case when fighting the battle in your provinces, and have the standard release/ransom/execute options when in enemy or neutral territory.

The crash seems to be specific for executing multiple defender army in a settlement. I can kill those I capture in open field just fine.

How many units were in those armies?

The current understanding is, that when you beat an army (This includes reinforcements) that is over 20 units in size and execute the prisoners, your game will CTD. Therefore the amount of units is important, A5G_Reaper.

Yeah, cheat get through just fine.

The two crash I got both involve three fully stacked army of moblin/ordona, both on a settlement assault scenario. Haven't encountered such huge army since then, but I executed two full stack of goron in open field several times and it went well.
