o all right, to be perfectly honest, i love this mod and i love the roman units. so i cheated, after i defeated pyruss (excuse spelling) you know add_population Roma 18000 lol
btw a great way of defeating him and his huge army is to gather all ur good troops (everyone except the town watch) and wait for pyruss to take a city, then attack the city, wait for him to sally forth. make 2 infantry teams and place them on the 2 sides of the gate, wait for the column of phalanxes to come out and then rush from both sides, repeat 10-12 times and you will have broken his army. i didnt take a screenie, but here are the end stats.
Rome 3000 odd men killed everyone lol
rebel greek about 3900 killed about 1500
that strategy worked like a charm, nice challenge and change from the normal cushy roman start, u actually have to fight for survival now!
Actually, i got a question... how does the game know which are the provinces to check for with regards to the marius events? because now that we're running on mundus magnus and its still able to do it is it possible to take off or add cities to the list? I ask because i would like to add Rome to the list my for my own personal game (long story why).
Cymera: That's a novel approach. I found a spot in Calabria that has a lot of broken rocky terrain which is pretty good for taking down a phalanx.
Warmaster: The game uses the hidden resource 'italy' to determine which provinces to use. Rome has that resource, so I assumed that an Imperial Palace in Rome would do the trick. However, Rome also has the hidden resource 'rome' which is used by the game for other purposes, and I guess the game uses that to exclude Rome from the reform conditions.
If you want Rome to be included then try putting the rome hidden resource somewhere else. Hidden resources are defined in [Rome]/xgm/world/maps/base/descr_regions.txt. Removing it entirely may cause CTDs, and you will also want to make a new hidden resource to control the recruitment of Praetorian units.
