I'm not sure if this book was already mentioned:
The Parthian and Early Sasanian Empires: Adaptation and Expansion (British Institute of Persian Studies Archaeological Monograph Series), Oxbow 2014 - first several chapters are devoted to the Parthians in 3-1 centuries, including considerations on the use of the elephants on the battlefield.

There's a very new textbook on the Iranian history produced by well-known author Touraj Daryaee. It's probably a too general for the seasoned EBII Pahlava players, but for the new to the subject it may be just perfect:
King of the Seven Climes: A History of the Ancient Iranian World (3000 BCE - 651 CE), April 2017.
Mod leader of the SSHIP: traits, ancillaries, scripts, buildings, geography, economy.
    ..............................................................................................................................................................................
If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.
    ..............................................................................................................................................................................
Reviews of the mods (all made in 2018): SSHIP, Wrath of the Norsemen, Broken Crescent.
Follow home rules for playing a game without exploiting the M2TW engine deficiencies.
Hints for Medieval 2 moders: forts, merchants, AT-NGB bug, trade fleets.
Thrones of Britannia: review, opinion on the battles, ideas for modding. Shieldwall is promising!
Dominant strategy in Rome2, Attila, ToB and Troy: “Sniping groups of armies”. Still there, alas!

A new book on Dura Europos during the Parthian times:
    T. Kaizer (ed.), Religion, Society and Culture at Dura-Europos, YCS, 38, 2016, Cambridge University Press.

On the internet at least one article is available:
    https://www.academia.edu/795801/Dura...ress_pp._16-29
It describes the political situation of a hellenistic polis under a Parthian rule - I think it's much pertinent to the EBII.

Very interesting and very expensive new book on three provinces present in the EB:
Michał Marcian, Sophene, Gordyene, and Adiabene. Three Regna Minora of Northern Mesopotamia Between East and West, Brill 2017.
Main themes are to be found on the academia.edu webpages of the author, unfortunatelly, he keeps his work behind the paywall.

Hello. Does anyone know if there is a good book on Bosporan Kingdom's armies and warfare other than Mielczarek's one? Where did the developers get the historical background for the bosporan armies from? Is there a specific book or a better one? I'd like to buy one but Mielczarek's one is out of stock or not very cheap.

Unfortunately, I don't know any, but on the webpage on the Pontic studies in Aarhus you may find something interesting for you (even if it's not related to military), if you're interested in Pontos.

yes, Pontus and Black Sea basin in general.

lots has been published in Russian. dont know how helpful it is and how much of it got translated into English but lots of Soviet and later Russian and Ukraninan scholarship is focused on Bosphoran Greeks/kingdom. as an example see Ju. A. Vinogradov, V. A. Goroncharovskiy, War History and Warfare of the Cimmerian Bosporus (6th century BC – middle of the 3rd century AD) St. Petersburg State University, Faculty of Philology St. Petersburg, 2008.
again, it is in Russia and there is more where it came from - many works on the area during Hellenistic period, local numismatics etc.

    Greetings after a long time.

New Grainger´s book called Kings and Kingship in the Hellenistic World 350 – 30 BC is available now. Published by Pen and Sword books.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Another Pen and Sword book which I want to read is called Early Roman Warfare: From the Regal Period to the First Punic War by Jeremy Armstrong. It looks like a very interesting book.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Also I found another very interesting book about Republican Rome in EB timeframe called Rome at War: Farms, Families, and Death in the Middle Republic by Nathan Rosenstein, which I received few days ago. It looks very interesting so far.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Another book I found is called Benefactors, Kings, Rulers: Studies on the Seleukid Empire between East and West by D. Engels. Quite an expensive one

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And the last one I found these days is called Polis Expansion and Elite Power in Hellenistic Karia by Jeremy LaBuff. The book was released few days ago. The book was published by Lexington Books.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

the long awaited (by me) Landmark Julius Caesar: The Complete Works has been recently released. great news for those a bit skint (but not for those of us who prefer old style hard copies) is that there are free supplementary essays for this book that havent been included in the volume - over 300 pages worth of various academic article covering a range of topics - all available online for free. these came in a web essays format and can be downloaded here.

I don't know if you have discussed it before but, has anyone read Patricia Southern's "The roman army: A History 753 BC - AD 476"? What do you think about it? I haven't seen it in the main bibliography page. https://www.amazon.com/Roman-Army-Hi.../dp/1445620898
